Description

The Ex-HMAS Adelaide is a former Australian naval frigate that has been deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef and diving attraction.

It is located 1.8 kilometres from Avoca Beach and approximately 1.4 kilometres from the Skillion at Terrigal.

The Ex-HMAS Adelaide offers an amazing diving experience with the opportunity to explore an exciting, large-scale underwater site. The site is suitable for experienced and certified divers and features the ship's wheelhouse, engine room, and other interesting features. You can encounter a vast variety of marine life inhabiting the site, including kingfish, cuttlefish, and blue gropers. The water temperature ranges between 17? and 25?. It is recommended to avoid diving during rough weather or strong currents.

The Ex-HMAS Adelaide dive site is accessible by boat only. There are several local dive operators who offer diving tours to the site with pick-up points at various locations in the Central Coast. Please ensure you are aware of the inherent risks associated with this activity before starting your journey.
