Description

Located in the coastal village of Angourie, New South Wales, the Blue and Green Pools is a must-visit destination for travelers.

The Blue Pool is a former rock quarry which was transformed into an aquatic paradise when an underground freshwater spring was disturbed, suddenly creating the dazzling blue pool we see today. This destination owes this spectacular transformation to luck!

The Blue Pool is not only a beautiful sight to behold but also provides excellent opportunities for children and adventurers to jump off its magnificent cliffs into the refreshing blue. The spine-tingling experience is a must-try for daredevils, and it provides a wonderful way to spend the day. The 10-kilometer coastal walk from Angourie to the Blue Pool is also an excellent option for ramblers. After their hike, many look forward to melting into the Blue Pool's revitalizing chill.

The Blue and Green Pools are open to visitors throughout the year, but it’s best to visit during the warmer months. Clarence Valley Council will put up signs informing visitors of any closures resulting from these blooms.

Getting to Angourie blue and green pools is quite easy. They are situated south of Yamba, and visitors can follow the Pacific Highway and turn off at Yamba Road to their destination. For those traveling from Sydney, it's just 660 kilometers away to the south.
