The summer school holidays are fast approaching, meaning it’s time to get the whole family together for a few, sun-filled days of family time.

Just a half an hour drive north of Perth, with its laid-back Mediterranean feel, The Marina Hotel at Mindarie offers some incredible accommodation options for those looking for a getaway without actually getting away. Imagine waking up to views over the crystal clear water of the marina, and ending the day watching the sunset with with a drink in hand.

The good news is that during December and January, the family can enjoy two nights in The Marina Hotel’s two-bedroom suites with a kids colouring-in pack and $100 food and beverage voucher redeemable at The Marina’s venues for $500 all up.

The beauty of staying at The Marina is that you will have a host of great bars, restaurants and entertainment options right on your doorstep. The Marina is home to popular craft brewery Indian Ocean Brewing Company (affectionately called The Indie) which offers specialty small batch brewed beers. You will also be able to enjoy a poolside cocktail at the recently opened Cabana Poolside Bar & BBQ which is open every Saturday and Sunday from 11am, and book out your own private daybed or Cabana to lounge in.

The Marina Outdoor Cinema

Busy parents will also be pleased to know that Lifeboat, new pop-up family-friendly space, has a playground to keep the kids busy and active as you grab a bite to eat, and have launched an Outdoor Movie program with free movies screened every Friday and Saturday after the sun goes down. You can see the full program here.

There’s also lots for the family to explore during the day, including taking a dip in the pool, visiting one of the stunning local beaches, hiring a bike and going for a cycle around the area, or, if you have your own boat, cruising around the marina.

If you’re looking for a getaway sans kids, The Marina Hotel offers a range of other staycation options including their Girls Getaway Package, their Sunset Break and their Sunday Stay & Breakfast. Their Girl’s Getaway package offers one night accommodation in either their 2-bedroom suite or 3-bedroom villa with a bottle of sparkling on arrival and a manicure or pedicure included. For a mid-week getaway, their Sunset Break offers one night in their one bedroom spa suite, with a complimentary cheese and fruit platter and a bottle of sparkling on arrival to get the party started.

The family staycation packages are available Sundays through Mondays over the summer, excluding New Year’s Eve, while their Sunset Break package is only available Mondays through Thursdays up to December 30. To make a booking or enquiry, phone (08) 9305 9305 or email [email protected].
