Classic, onion-packed, topped with pickles or melted cheddar: Here’s Perth’s best Burger spots to visit whenever you’re craving comfort food.

Varsity Burger

Northbridge, Crawley, and Morley

Varsity Burger is no ordinary burger joint. It is decked out to give you the full American-style backyard experience, with arcade games, pool tables, and more. Take your tastebuds on a journey through the great USA and enjoy topping-loaded American style burgers on brioche buns, served with loaded fries, jalapeño poppers, and a shake to wash it all down. With televisions scattered around the venue, Varsity Burger is one of Perth’s best spots for sports entertainment (showing football, rugby, and even Formula One live and happening). For sports, burgers, and good times, Varsity is open Sun – Thu 11am to 10pm, and Fri – Sat 11am to 12am.

Alfred’s Kitchen

Guildford

Being the oldest burger joint in Perth, you know that Alfred’s Kitchen is not one to miss. This unique take-out hut in the historic town of Guildford is one of the best places to enjoy an Aussie-style homemade burger. We recommend the fan-favourite smoky ‘Alfred’s Special’ burger, served with homemade BBQ sauce, and their succulent steak sandwiches, grilled to perfection. They also offer homemade soup in the winter and a dine-in option in their re-commissioned historical train car. Alfred's Kitchen is open Mon through Thu 5pm to 11pm, Fri 5pm to 1am, Sat 12pm to 1am, and Sun 12pm to 11pm.

Short Order Burger Co.

 Perth CBD and Fremantle

At this fully licensed, Nashville-style burger joint, every order is made with love and pride. Burger fanatic Simon Kony opened his first Short Order Burger Co. pop up in 2015 as a side hustle, after moving from Melbourne. Five years later, this side hustle became one of Perth’s benchmark burger eateries. Get a taste of Nashville, the culinary treasure, and try Short Order’s fluffy burgers, fiery wings and cauliflower bites, and pair it with a cold beer. Pop in between 2pm and 4pm to get a cheeseburger for just $8! Short Order Burger Co. is open in the CBD and Fremantle from 11am to 9pm.

Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co

Perth CBD

Located at the heart of the Perth CBD, the popular Australian burger diner, Betty’s Burgers & Concreate Co. was established in Noosa in 2014. Since then, the chain has rapidly expanded, serving fresh, juicy burgers, and providing the Noosa experience to visitors from all over the country. Betty’s Deluxe is hard to pass up, but there's plenty on offer if you're feeling adventurous. The Shroom Burger with a crispy fried mushroom patty with melted gouda is a vegetarian's dream. Pair your burger with their iconic rich and creamy, frozen custard ice-cream, to polish off the menu. Betty’s Burgers is open 10.30am to 8pm Sunday to Wednesday, and 10.30 to 9pm Thursday to Saturday.

Hoodburger

Northbridge, Inglewood, Ardross and Mandurah

The Team at Hoodburger says, “we want to be a good burger shop using the best ingredients and pay homage to the fast food we adored throughout our lives.” When indulging in this burger joint, that is precisely what visitors sign up for. Whether you’re ordering a single, double, or triple, you’ll tear into a perfectly crispy patty with cheese, crunchy chicken tenders, plenty of fresh onions, and ketchup and mustard sandwiched between two halves. Opening times vary between locations, so check their socials to keep in the loop.
