Whether you’re a budding home barista or coffee aficionado, here's five local businesses roasting coffee right here in WA.

Micrology Coffee

Osborne Park

The team at Micrology Coffee pride themselves on quality coffee and are “as fun and sleek as the coffee they roast.” With sustainability at the core of their business, the brand prioritises ethically sourced and environmentally sustainable beans with unique floral flavours. They have partnered with Donut Waste WA to divert tonnes of used coffee grounds from landfill, used to make products like compost and skincare, to give coffee a second life. Shop online or in-store, or sign up for their subscription where you can have fresh roasted coffee delivered to your home every 2-4 weeks, and pre-ordering your coffee before visiting. The Micrology Coffee wholesaler and Café is open Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm, Saturday 7am to 12:30pm, and closed on Sundays.

Blacklist Coffee Roasters

Subiaco and Welshpool

Multi-award-winning roastery and wholesaler, Blacklist Coffee Roasters, are recognised as one of Australia’s leading coffee specialists and are inspired by a wine cellar door. In 2019 they opened their first concept store dedicated to reinventing the coffee experience and showcasing coffee in a new light. Blacklist’s specialty blend - the ‘Pitch Blend’ - has notes of chocolate and caramel. Visit Blacklist’s cellar door concept store open in Subiaco from Monday to Saturday 7am – 2pm & Sunday 8am - 2pm, and roastery coffee shop in Welshpool Monday to Friday 7am – 1pm.

Giotto Coffee

Malaga

At Giotto Coffee, the beans are carefully selected from all over the world to create a unique blend of flavours and finishes. Their house blend is a fan favourite in the traditional Italian style. Coffee tasting at Giotto Coffee Roasters is a fantastic sensory experience - as one of the few coffee roasters in Perth that have in-house technicians who have years of experience in coffee machine service and repair. And if you’re after your own machine, the company sells second-hand-refurbished beauties. Giotto Coffee is open Monday to Saturday 8am – 1pm.

Mano a Mano Coffee Roasters

West Perth

Mano a Mano (‘hand to hand’) combines unique coffee blends with sustainable sourcing. They believe that great coffee begins on the other side of the world, where coffee farmers work hard, cultivating their crop with the same dedication to authenticity, transparency, and quality as themselves. Mano a Mano’s best-selling blend, the Espresso Blend contains beans from different botanical varieties, geographical origins, and flavour profiles that are expertly blended to create a balanced, rich, and clean shot that is filled with caramel, cherry, and chocolate notes. While their ingredients change seasonally, Mano a Mano’s intention remains throughout the year. Open Monday to Friday 7am – 3pm.

Brother of Mine

Port Kennedy and Baldivis

If there’s a name that fits perfectly with its brand, it’s Brother of Mine. Brought to life by UK-born brothers, Ben and Jos Whettingsteel, whose lives were shaped by street parties, get-togethers, and community-driven gatherings. Brother of Mine was created to bring those cherished experiences into the present reality, build meaningful relationships, and bring the community together through coffee. Brother of Mine roastery is located in Port Kennedy and is open Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm. With quirky, street-style packaging, there are four signature blends to choose from. You can shop online for blends like their bestselling ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn’ Blend, described to have notes of marmalade, dark chocolate, and jaffa, or visit the café in Baldivis open Monday to Sunday 5.30am – 3pm.

Yahava KoffeeWorks

Swan Valley and Margaret River

Yahava, founded by Dutch explorer and Coffee fanatic Alex Kok, is one of the most popular coffee roasters in the country. Yahava travels the world searching for the world’s finest coffee to find flavours that you will fall in love with. At Yahava KoffeeWorks, discover the tasting bench where you can sample coffee for free, whilst the crew explains where they come from and what sets them apart from each other. You can also experience a more intricate ‘Coffee Safari’ tasting for $79. Yahava recommends booking online so that the team can reserve a bench for you and your friends. Yahava is open Monday to Sunday 9am – 5pm in the Swan Valley, and Saturday to Sunday 7am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday 6am - 4.30pm in Margaret River.
