Can you smell the roses? Wildflower season has arrived and we have the perfect selection of wildflower happenings in Perth & WA for you to get your floral fix. We all know Perth is blessed with the best public park in the country, so what better way to enjoy it than at the annual Kings Park Festival. Outside Perth, the Great Southern region boasts even more bloomy goodness with the standout Bloom Festival. Considering Western Australia has over 12,000 species of wildflower, there is no shortage of things to experience this wildflower season.

SunSmart 2019 Bloom Festival

This annual festival brings a month of fabulous and varied events celebrating spring across the Great Southern region. The program boasts over 60 events featuring wildflower displays, exhibitions, informative workshops, guided walks, food events and more. Participating towns include Broomehill, Cranbrook, Katanning, Kojonup and more – which means there’ll be activities every way you turn! See the full program here.

Kings Park Festival

Throughout all of September, Kings Park will proudly celebrate their beautiful display of Western Australian wildflowers. The month-long calendar is full of guided walks, science talks, outdoor exhibitions, musicians and other free events. While overlooking the picturesque Swan River and city skyline, get lost on one of the many trails in Kings Park and see one of the largest collections of wildflowers in Perth.

Ravensthorpe Wildflower Show

Make sure you find the time before September 21 to make your way down to Ravensthorpe to feast your eyes (and nose!) upon on one of the biggest wildflower shows in the world. Amongst all the flower displays there are pop-up stalls, art exhibitions, workshops (including beekeeping and papermaking lessons), guided walks and plenty more.

Busselton Wildflower Exhibition

The 94th Busselton Wildflower Exhibition blooms into town from later this month. Showcasing some of the best wildflowers of the South West, this is a show to write down in your diary. Located at the Church on Kent Street, right in the heart of Busselton, you can plan your day around the many local activities, food and drink spots, or take a short drive to other wildflower shows nearby towns.

Yates Springtime at Araluen

Ever wondered what it would be like to see 150,000 tulips, 20,000 daffodils and many more flowers in full bloom? Wonder no more! Araluen Botanic Park in Roleystone has one of the most colourful displays of flowers begging for your Instagram feed. When you eventually decide to leave, remember to take some of the beauty home by picking up a potted tulip and starting your own springtime showcase.
