A winter treat smuggled out of the Christmas markets of European cities, if there’s one thing we look forward to this time of year, it’s the warming, spiced deliciousness of mulled wine. With the cold season well and truly upon us, we can’t think of a better way to warm up than by cosying up with someone special over a mug of steaming mulled wine! If you are wondering where to get your hands on this sweet and spicy winter elixir here in Perth, we’ve got you covered – explore our top picks below!

Lot Twenty

This friendly bar on William Street is serving up well-spiced mulled wine every night, but for those in the mood for something extra hot, the famous Fire Feuerzangenbowle Punch is just what you need. This fiery mix of warm punch and caramelized sugar is available every Saturday until September. Embrace the German tradition and watch as your drink is stirred and then set on fire, melting a rum-soaked sugar-cube into the delicious concoction.

The Cabin Bar

Find refuge from the cold in this cosy, woodsy place set in the heart of Mt Hawthorn. At the Cabin Bar, your senses will be revived by the sound of a crackling fireplace, the homely cabin-inspired interior and, of course, the sweet and fruity aroma of their special infusion of mulled wine. The muted lighting further fuels the intimate vibe, making your mulled wine experience feel just that little extra spicy!

The Globe

Years ago, settlers would come here to warm-up and have a drink and a chat… and not much has changed since then! The Globe is known as one of the oldest pubs in WA – which you can probably tell from its charming colonial style interior. Conveniently, this gem is located in the heart of the CBD near the Perth Underground Station. Why not make it your afterwork destination and reward yourself with a glass of delicious mulled wine? Go on, you deserve it!

The Girls School Cinema

This atmospheric pop-up cinema located in the historic Old Perth Girls School has something for everyone, from Lord of the Rings movie marathon nights to screenings of all the latest blockbusters. As if it couldn’t get any better, now you can even enjoy a nice warm mug of (you guessed it) mulled wine as you sink into your beanbag! And don’t forget to pop by the courtyard for pre-movie marshmallow toasting around the open fire-pits.

Winter Village Perth

Get ready for Yagan Square to be transformed into a magical winter wonderland! This year, the square will become an enchanting European-style village complete with little igloos, community market stalls and pop-up bars. If you can’t make it to the Continent, this is as close as you’ll get, with stalls serving up “Alps-themed food” and mulled wine. The Perth Winter Village is set to run from June 6 to September 29, so don’t miss out!

The Garden

The Garden’s open-plan space makes it perfect for the summer, but this popular drinking and dining spot also has plenty to offer during the colder months. Cosy on over for their pizza, pasta and parmi nights and sample their in-house blend of the spicy mulled stuff (you might just go back for seconds!).
