Thinking of studying performing arts? Curious about what goes into professional productions? Get some insight into the incredible world of performance and stagecraft at WAAPA as part of the ECU Open Day at the Mount Lawley campus, this Sunday April 18 from 10am – 4pm.

WAAPA's Open Day is an excellent opportunity for prospective and future students, as well as curious concertgoers, to come and meet some of WAAPA’s talented faculty, learn about course structures, speak to current students and enjoy live concerts throughout the day. You'll also have the rare chance to go behind the scenes with a tour of WAAPA's performance studios, design workshops, and film and broadcasting facilities, plus you can sit in on rehearsals to see where the magic happens.

“ECU and WAAPA’s Open Day is a great opportunity to learn how to become part of one of the world’s most acclaimed performing arts training institutions,” says WAAPA Executive Dean, David Shirley.
With the exciting news that the $695million ECU WAAPA city campus will be transforming Perth's City Centre when it opens in 2025, future students will be coming in at a momentous time for the academy. Set to host over 300 performances a year and offering state-of-the-art facilities, WAAPA's new home at Yagan Square will position the prestigious performing arts school in league with world-leaders such as Julliard, Tisch and London's Guildhall School.

For those keen to get on stage or in front of the camera, WAAPA offers full-time courses in a broad range of areas including Aboriginal Performance, Acting, Arts Management, Dance, Music, Music Theatre and Performing Arts and Screen Performance. WAAPA also offers several courses in Production & Design spanning Costume, Design, Lighting, Props & Scenery, Sound, and Stage Management. You'll get a taster of all of these courses during the Open Day.

Everyone is welcome to come along and check out the campus and performing arts courses, but a few of the presentations and tours taking place on the day do require prior registration, including:
