Artworks on display at The Studio Gallery this season.

Mel Brigg
Influx | $14,500
Acrylic on canvas

Artist | Internationally and nationally acclaimed artist Mel Brigg is based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Born in South Africa, Mel is self-taught and began his painting career in 1970. He migrated to Australia in 1992.
Artwork | Light is the core of Mel’s paintings, together with perspective, texture, structure and lyrically atmospheric colour. Combined, these culminate in evocative, emotive and emphatic works.

Sophie Gralton
Foundling | $5800
Oil and mixed media

Artist | Creating from her studio in Sydney, Sophie’s works include oil and mixed media such as old linoleum, manila tags, children’s storybooks and postage stamps, which are directly applied to paper or canvas.
Artwork | In Sophie’s paintings, the faces of the children are obscured, as it was not the intention for the works to be conventional portraits but rather fleeting impressions of youth and childhood memory.

Eve Arnold
Connect | $3500
24-carat gold leaf, etched and distressed aluminium on alucobond

Artist | Born in Germany, Eve Arnold moved to Sydney in 1973 and Perth in 1975. Eve works in aluminium and copper, transforming industrial sheets of metal into two-dimensional works of art.
Artwork | Connect is an elegant, contemporary work enriched by accents of 24-carat gold leaf, displaying an interaction between aluminium surfaces and light.
