Art lovers mark your diaries for two incredible weeks of immersive and interactive personal art experiences in the Margaret River Region. During Margaret River Region Open Studios, more than 100 artists across a rich array of mediums throw open the doors of their private studios and invite you in to meet, chat, be inspired and possibly purchase a piece for your collection. Create your own artistic adventure from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin following a trail of your favourite artists, styles, or discover new talent. The event features, painters, sculptors, photographers, ceramicists, printmakers, mixed media artists plus there’s always some creative surprises. Springtime is the perfect time to visit the Margaret River Region and experience something new, road tripping the quiet back roads to discover studios on farms, on rural properties, in quaint towns, in the forest and by the beach. There’s a depth of artistic talent in the region and this event is a celebration of its artists and their works, providing the opportunity to visit their working studios, talk to them about their craft and process. Pop-up Elvis Wedding Day in Margaret River

WA’s first tiny wedding chapel on wheels, Big Love Tiny Chapel, will host 10 lucky loved up couples for a wedding ceremony or vow renewal in the presence of ‘Elvis’ this October.

The couples will legally wed on October 22 in this whimsical tiny chapel on wheels, which will be stationed on the grounds of Colonial Brewing Co in Margaret River. You and your hunka hunka burnin’ love can exchange Elvis-themed vows led by professional Elvis impersonator Frank Pesely and boogie your way back down the aisle for photos with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, in or outside of the chapel. Gecko Ensembles are Barking Gecko Theatre's weekly drama classes for children. It’s where self-expression leads to self-confidence, as children stretch their imaginations in exciting directions. Gecko Ensembles focus on the learning that comes from engaging with drama processes. Children question, explore, imagine and create. Through exploring some of life's big questions children develop collaboration and communication skills and build resilience and empathy. They challenge themselves, listen to each other, learn new skills and most importantly, have fun! Gecko Ensembles celebrate children’s diverse ideas, interests and imagination. Children act as our creative consultants, exploring the same content as Barking Gecko’s artistic teams are exploring in our rehearsal rooms. Classes are facilitated by our Teaching Artists, who are accomplished industry professionals, passionate in helping young people discover their potential through drama.
