Step into the magnificent 'Hamptons' inspired building that is Aravina Estate – complete with high ceilings, open fire, French doors and white trimmings. You're home - so enjoy the restaurant, café, sports car gallery, homewares and of course, our cellar door.

Our restaurant, which is led by Ben Day, uses only the freshest seasonal and organic produce, grown on the property where possible. Ben enjoys mentoring and motivating kitchen staff to put forward recipe ideas for use with his menu changing daily ensuring each meal is fresh and seasonal.

For the more casual customer, why not unwind on our lawn or enjoy a grazing plate or pizza from our Pizza Bar. Available every Saturday & Sunday.

Kids love Aravina Estate too, with a brand new state-of-the-art playground built in the gardens and ready for summer fun.

Dads will enjoy the Estate’s Sports Car Museum, currently hosting several European classics and Australian muscle cars.

Everyone loves the Australian surf culture, with WA's first ever Surfing museum, the WA Surf Gallery at Aravina Estate,  featuring a celebration of surfing history throughout WA.

About us

Beginning its life as the Wicked Ale Brewery in the late 1990's; the Bush Shack Brewery as we are now called, is a small family run business. With a hands-on approach to creating very unique beers we aim to be a “must-do” with visitors and locals alike.

We specialise in all natural, unfiltered brews as well as producing flavoured wine-based drinks. The setting is relaxed and rustic, providing a casual “pub-in-the-paddock” atmosphere. It is a place where couples, families and groups can gather to enjoy our rural location. You can make the most of our BBQ facilities, BYO picnic hamper or make a selection from our snack menu.

There are games for all ages, including a pool table, lawn bocce, an outdoor chess set and a sandpit playground.

Trading from Sunday to Thursday 10am - 5pm and on Friday and Saturday 10am – 6pm. For those special occasions we are licensed until 9pm and enquiries are welcome.

Other businesses within the property are the Yallingup Forest Resort and Yallingup Lodge thus making it an ideal base for your stay in the South West.

Chef Malcom Chow has honed his skills in some of the best restaurants in Australia including Vue de Monde in Melbourne, Tetsuya's in Sydney and Studio Bistro in Yallingup. Ben is a renowned West Australian talent, who will bring his flair for French inspired modern cuisine to Aravina, with the brief to design an innovative menu aimed at showcasing the extensive range of sixteen (16) Aravina Wines.

Ben’s creativity and training in the art of French Cuisine along with his passion for locally sourced South West produce will ensure that Aravina offers a range of new and innovative dishes previously not seen in the Margaret River region.

“Western Australia has always been home to me, but the South West has stolen my heart,” said Ben.

“Since starting a family, life is all about the local produce and sustainability for this wonderful part of the world.”

Ben has been appointed along with Tom Spencer as Sous Chef, the team having previously worked together at Knee Deep in the Southwest.

Aravina Estate CEO, Steve Tobin commented “Aravina is thrilled with the appointment of Ben and Tom to head up our A-la-Carte Operations with the talented Michelle Babb continuing as Head Chef managing all Weddings and Events. This appointment enables us to refocus the Restaurant onto showcasing our Aravina Wines and estate grown produce from the kitchen garden and orchards whilst bringing an innovative French inspired cuisine not previous experienced by our customers.

“We’re all about celebrating the clean & green qualities of this stunning South West location whilst promoting the sustainable, quality food production efforts of our local suppliers,” said Steve. As part of Ben’s appointment and the changing cuisine, Aravina is restyling it’s a-la-Carte restaurant into a more elegant, sophisticated space in keeping with the increasingly refined cuisine.

“Our aim since Day One has been to bring new ideas and creativity to the SW Region and to continuously innovate to ensure our customers have a reason to return and firmly place Aravina as their leading “Destination” in the South West. And it’s not all just talk.

“We’ve committed to this statement by signing up to the Buy West Eat Best restaurant program, whereby a minimum of 70% of the entrée and main course dishes are locally sourced in WA.”

It’s a timely celebration for Aravina, with a new Winter Menu ready for enjoyment this coming long weekend for WA Day, but a table is in high demand….. “The restaurant is fully booked but we’ll happily welcome guests to sample our wine at cellar door and enjoy the view and of course the car collection!.”

Description

Dating back to ancient Rome, the gugelhupf is a crown-shaped sweet or savoury cake that’s still commonly found in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. It’s baked in with biodynamic flour in traditional ceramic moulds to ensure even cooking, with a hole in the centre, much like a bundt cake.

The Strasbourg variety, made with walnuts and speck, goes superbly with wine and cheese. Then there’s Yallingup Gugelhupf's gluten-free chocolate with almond meal and Gabriel Chocolate cacao nibs; and the classic Vienna with sultana and vanilla, both of which win over those with a sweet tooth.

Traditionally gugelhupf is eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner with tea or wine. It hardly matters, though. Team it with local preserves, condiments, cheese or chutneys and just enjoy.

Other treats are available to takeaway, such as plum cake (during season), lemon tart and sandwiches made from the Yallingup Woodfired Bread or simply loaves of bread.
