Burns Beach

A family favourite, Burns Beach is a sheltered swimming spot that sits within the wildlife-rich waters of Marmion Marine Park.

Description

Look out for seabirds, dolphins, sea lions, rays and a huge diversity of other species from the lookout points. Interpretive signs along the way provide insights into the native flora, fauna and history of the area.

Dine ocean-side at the café, or try chasing some fish by throwing in a line from the groyne or northern end of the beach.

Claughton Park

Jetty access, picnic facilities including free BBQ's.

Description

Emu Lakes

In one of Perth's newest suburbs exists a special lake side parkland area complete with playground and picnic facilities.

Description

A pretty lakeside parkland area on Summerlakes Parade in Ballajura, the City’s western most suburb, complete with playground and other facilities.  Watch birds, ducks and pelicans and enjoy the cultured flower beds as you take a relaxing stroll along the lakeshore.

Hinds Reserve & Boatshed

River and jetty access, playground and public facilities, including BBQ's, make this a lovely picnic spot.

Description

Mettams Pool

Sheltered Mettam's Pool is a good family spot in which you can see a range of marine plant and animal species close to shore.

Description

A reasonably good range of fish species resides within the pool, particularly in the holes and crevices in the southern section. They include red-lip morwong, banded sweep, bullseyes, wrasse, schools of buffalo bream, sea mullet, tarwine and blowfish. Sand whiting and Australian herring can be seen in the open water. 

Peasholm Dog Beach

A long stretch of crystal blue water!

Description

Peasholm Dog Beach, otherwise known as Floreat Dog Beach, is the ideal place to take your dog that's nearest to the city. It is the perfect length for a long walk and some quiet space to go for a dip. There are showers, toilets and bins along the beach for poop bags as well. There are also big waves at times when it gets a bit windier. 

Pickering Park/Bindaring Park

Good area of natural bush on the river with a wide range of native fauna that can be seen all along the walk trails. Good spot for a bit of fishing.

Description

Located on the banks of the Swan River, Bassendean Parade, Bassendean. This park joins the Heritage Trail and Cycle path.

Description

This beach is great for a swim and a place to get away. It usually isn't too busy during the weekdays. If you like an evening fish, this is the place for you. You can also have a picnic as this beach is equipped with facilities. 

Point Reserve

Reserve with large native trees and lush grass on a tranquil river setting. The park contains native trees and an abundance of wildlife as well as electric BBQ's, playground equipment, seating, shelters, disabled toilets,parking and river access.

Description

Located on North Road, Bassendean, this park overlooks a fork in the Swan River making it one of the most picturesque spots in Bassendean. A shady place in summer it is suitable for fishing, picnics, and play. as well as electric BBQ's, playground equipment, seating, shelters, disabled toilets, parking and river access.

Riverside Gardens is a park for everyone. You can have a BBQ with your family and friends, take your dogs for a walk or let your kids run around on the playground. There's also a shaded area which is great for staying out of the sun. And you can't forget the gorgeous river where you and your dogs can swim. 

Sandy Beach Reserve

Located at the end of West Road, Bassendean. This large reserve area includes both open grassed areas and tree shaded areas.

Description

 Right on the Swan River it is a popular spot in summer, and is the location of several local events.

Success Hill Reserve

The reserve has a path to the river and a very picturesque lower grassed portion on the Swan River with plenty of amenities and is significant to Aboriginal culture.

Description

This beach is a beautiful spot to take in the sunset! What makes Trigg Dog beach unique though, is the rocks on either side of the beach which give the space a safe and secluded vibe.

Whitfords Dog Beach

This long, sandy white beach is a popular choice for many dog owners - your dog wont want to leave.

Description

This beach stretches along the coastline just north of Hillarys Boat Harbour. It's a long beach therefore it's perfect for going for a long walk or jog with your dog and also gives your dog a chance to socialise with other dogs along the way. 

Yanchep Lagoon

An idyllic, quiet beach just to the north of Perth along the Yanchep coastline

Description

Yanchep has undergone a great deal of development in recent years but the appeal of this beautiful beach remains, with its crystalline blue water and warm sand. It is regularly patrolled by friendly lifeguards and protected by a natural reef so you can enjoy some peace of mind in more ways than one! 

Yanchep National Park

Known for its caves, koalas, kangaroos & culture, Yanchep National Park is one of the states oldest national parks. Bushland, Wetland, Tours, BBQ's, Golf, Camping & more. Open everyday.
