From the sports field to the boardroom and everywhere in between, the McGrath Foundation wants you to ‘Pull On Your Socks’ to help us support families experiencing breast cancer.

The Pull On Your Socks initiative encourages all types of sporting clubs to turn a game day pink during the season and wear the McGrath Foundation’s Pink Socks as well as hosting a fundraising event.
With a different, limited edition collectable sock each year, every dollar raised will help the McGrath Foundation fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities’ right across Australia and increase breast awareness in young people.
“Whether you’re into athletics, tennis, netball, hockey, basketball, football, AFL, union or league; don our McGrath Foundation Pink Socks and host a fundraising event to become part of one giant team having fun while helping ensure more families can access our amazing McGrath Breast Care Nurses,” said McGrath Foundation Ambassador & Director, Tracy Bevan.
Australian sporting heroes including Lleyton Hewitt, Ellyse Perry, Wendell Sailor, Billy Slater and Jamie Dwyer, to name a few, have come together from all codes and are asking clubs and teams across Australia to #pullonyoursocks and show their support for the McGrath Foundation.
With 43 people diagnosed with breast cancer each day, the McGrath Foundation is encouraging communities across the country to follow the lead of these famous sports stars by purchasing their team socks as well as hosting a fundraising event to help support families experiencing breast cancer.
"Last year we had over 200 Pull On Your Socks events across Australia and this year we anticipate even more codes stepping up and getting their clubs involved within local communities,” said Tracy.

Since 2005 the McGrath Foundation has placed 110 McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia who have supported over 44,000 families. This vital service is provided free of charge and available through self-referral.
The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) is the caretaker of football throughout the State and is responsible for the overall development of the game.

The WAFC’s role includes ownership of the State’s two AFL teams – the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Football Club, guiding the West Australian Football League (WAFL), overseeing community football, managing umpiring, and driving participation through game development and the talent pathway.
The WAFC is a not for profit sports association. It is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act and governed by a voluntary Board of Commissioners that oversees the operation of all football activities throughout the State. The WAFC features more than 100 employees spread across the State.
The WAFC plays an important role in funding the ongoing development of football via our affiliates, schools, competitions and academies across all WA communities. This ensures that football is the best resourced sporting code in the State and can have the most active role in building better communities through various development programs.
The rich history of football in the community of Western Australia stretches back to 1885. Today it is the most popular sporting code in the state with 105,000 club participants, of which from Auskick to Seniors, 7% identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
This results in a significant social benefit and the creation of better communities through the active promotion of the sport and its associated values of teamwork, responsibility, respect, leadership, commitment and community participation.
While many of these benefits have long been the result of our activities, the West Australian Football Commission has both harnessed and harvested those activities delivering these benefits, and used the understanding to develop the most comprehensive community benefits programs in Australia.

- State talent academies for males and females
- The umpiring talent pathway
- School competitions and the AFL School Ambassador program
- Multicultural engagement programs
- Indigenous engagement programs including the Nicky Winmar and Kirby Bentley carnivals
- Auskick, junior and youth football
- All community competitions through our affiliated leagues
- Tribunals, governance and integrity programs
- Community facility funding
- Coaching, umpiring and volunteer accreditation and development
The West Australian Football League (WAFL) is an Australian rules football league based in Perth, Western Australia.
The competition is governed by the West Australian Football Commission, and based at Subiaco Oval.
The West Coast Eagles have been actively supporting the WA community since the club’s inception in 1986.
Recognising the club’s position as a social and community leader, we are constantly striving to increase the ways we can positively contribute to our state.
From helping to develop and grow our national game, improving educational and social outcomes among our youth or raising much-needed funds for local charities, the West Coast Eagles is committed to giving back to the WA community.
