Two months of immersive dining sessions, each celebrating WA’s finest craftspeople. Ben Elton's Gasp!

Directed by Phil Bedworth, it’s a modern re-working of Elton’s original 1990 play Gasping updated for an Australian audience. Australian mining company Lockheart Industries is looking for the next big idea to make the company millions and starts producing “designer air” with its revolutionary Suck-and-Blow machine. Frontier Touring, Secret Sounds and FRNDS MGMT are thrilled to announce the return of 9x ARIA nominees and critically acclaimed Sydney trio DMA’S. Off the back of countless successes, the three-piece rock outfit will bring their euphoric, timeless anthems – with a full band set-up – to FAC’s South Lawn on Sun 26 Sep 2021.

DMA’S started 2020 on a high, playing the iconic O2 Academy in Brixton to a sold-out crowd, right before the world went into lockdown. They continued from stage to screen, performing a breathtaking rendition of the Crowded House classic ‘Better Be Home Soon’ on Channel 9’s Music From The Home Front Anzac Day special, followed by an epic run of 24 sold-out ‘Unplugged & Intimate’ headline shows in Brisbane and Sydney, before taking the stage ahead of the opening bounce at the 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final in Brisbane last month.

The band’s accolades this year alone include nominations for triple j Australian Album of the Year and 5 x ARIA Award nominations including Album Of The Year, Best Rock Album, Best Group, Best Independent Release and Best Australian Live Act.

Gather round the fire pit in the heart of winter for our first edition as we reflect on our humanity, our mortality and the impact we have on our natural world, inspired by Jacobus Capone and Stanislava Pinchuk’s current exhibitions.

Dr Cass Lynch, author, poet, artist and academic offers reflections on space and time from her unique Nyoongar perspective, sounds from composer and sound designer Rachael Dease echo through the galleries and conversation between artist Jacobus Capone and Margaret Moore offer insight into the exhibition Jacobus Capone: Beating Heart.

THURS 4 NOV - Indian Summer. Dawn of Diwali

See FAC transformed into a Bollywood club night to mark the beginning of the famed Hindu Festival celebrating the triumph of light over darkness. Featuring dance, music, feasting and Bollywood beats, this glamourous edition of Leave the Lights On coincides with Curiosity and Rituals of the Everyday, a group exhibition celebrating contemporary craft from countries around the Indian Ocean Rim presented by the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial.

THURS 20 JAN - Colour Electronica

This final edition features acclaimed local act Feels, two dynamic Perth-based female musicians blending electronica with percussion. Known for producing rhythms of obscurity and vivid sound worlds, Feels are making waves for their high-octane, technically impressive performances. Colour Electronica will coincide with Hundreds and Thousands, an immersive colour exhibition for children and families, bringing together vibrant interactive artworks and rich sensory experiences.

After 25 years Wet Wet Wet are finally returning to Australia and New Zealand on the back of a hugely successful run of European summer festival appearances and a sold out UK tour. The tour kicks off at the Crown Theatre Perth, before moving to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, the Gold Coast, Auckland and Christchurch.

The band, who announced in late 2018 that Kevin Simm (winner of ‘The Voice UK’ and former member of Liberty X) had joined original members Graeme Clark, Neil Mitchell and Tommy Cunningham as lead vocalist, will be performing their most iconic hits, including ‘Love is all around’, the best-selling single in Australia of 1994, along with ‘Sweet Surrender’, Goodnight Girl’, ‘Julia Says’ and many more. 

“It’s been a long time since we’ve been to Australia and New Zealand! We loved our numerous trips there in the past and can’t wait to see everyone again” Graeme Clark said.

Neil Mitchell said, “It’ll have been twenty-five years since we last played there so this is a well overdue return!”

Wet Wet Wet has played to more than 4 million people in dozens of countries worldwide; and each tour has cemented their reputation as being one of the best live acts to come out of the UK.

Perth’s indie four-piece Death by Denim are back and determined to get you on the dancefloor with their new single ‘Cause A Scene’, a pulsating and high energy party-starter To celebrate they're hitting the road for shows in Perth, Bunbury, Margaret River & Scarborough to showcase the new track & also give you a sneak peek at new material from their forthcoming album out 2022. ‘Cause is a Scene’ is the follow-up to previous single ‘Small World’, both tracks a taste of what to expect from their sophomore album out early 2022. They follow a string of successful releases last year, with Death by Denim having three songs added to high rotation on triple j from their debut album and seeing fan favourites ‘Cigarettes and Honey’ and ‘Wiggy’ both surpass 1 million streams on Spotify. 2020 also saw them signing to Paradigm Talent Agency as well as being part of a select few to showcase at BIGSOUND50 and SXSW’s first digital festival.

GLORIA! PRESENTED BY PERTH SYMPHONIC CHORUS In a year so challenged by the travails of Covid-19 it’s wonderful to present a concert of positively uplifting and exciting music. Conducted by Margaret pride OAM, the Chorus will perform Rutter’s joyous Gloria for mixed chorus, brass & percussion, built on exciting jazz rhythms and infectious melodies. Poulenc’s Gloria for soprano soloist, choir and full orchestra is colourful and unexpectedly melodic; its vibrant orchestral accompaniment adds beautiful harmonic piquancy to the choral line along with a compelling rhythmic drive and buoyancy. As a foil for these contagiously exciting works the chamber choir will present Arvo Pärt’s exquisitely subdued and reflective Gloria from the Berliner Messe, and brilliant organist Alessandro Pittorino will demonstrate his virtuosic skills performing Poulenc’s Organ Concerto.
