Description

Innovative and experimental visual artist Lisa Payton of Lisa Payton Creative Arts explores mixed media techniques to create evocative and inspirational artworks.

Local Artists first exhibition at the Mandurah Convention Centre

Mandurah Convention Centre proudly hosts Lisa Payton Creative Arts and her new exhibition “Abstract Earth Art” which explores through paint many of the natural phenomena connected to Australia’s vast and varied land and seascapes.

Inspired by both the magnificence of the natural landscape with its immense open spaces and organic shapes as well as the richness of an inherent colour palette, Payton’s works are vibrant and expressive.

In a similar vein to environmental photographer Richard Waldendorp, Payton paints from a bird’s eye view. Her process involves juxtaposing textured layers and soft glazes of a diverse variety of mediums.  These include acrylic and enamel paint, acrylic mediums, turpentine, grass tree resin, bitumen, textured plasters, modeling paste and impasto which she applies to canvas, board and aluminum structures through experimental paint pouring and palette knife techniques.

“Abstract Earth Art’ Exhibition is about connecting people with the environment.” Says Payton, “Through the abstract bird’s eye view style of my art work people often recognize a place they have been throughout Australia.” It is through the recognition of the land that Payton delivers a positive environmental message, one of respect and responsibility towards the earth we live in.

Lisa Payton Creative Arts has been exhibiting at local markets, in particular the Smart Street Parties and has gained a reputation for her original aluminum outdoor wall and table features. She enjoys watching people interpreting her artwork and creating their own environmental story from it.

Description

I’m Dylan Fox, an award-winning Australian Landscape Photographer based out of Perth, Western Australia. As a West Australian Landscape Photographer, I take great pride in showcasing what this stunning part of the world has to offer. Traveling within Australia and overseas however provides new opportunities and to bring those experiences back with me. My online gallery consists of my finest landscape photography from Australia and the United States of America. This online gallery displays my award-winning collection and offers my prints for sale in a variety of sizes sure to suit your need. I supply artwork to homes and commercial spaces in Perth, Australia and abroad.

I have always loved to have a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember. On family trips I can recall racing through rolls of film on my mum’s Canon SLR, capturing nothing in particular and using up excessive amounts of film in the process. Having always loved to travel and witness natures finest moments, it was only a matter of time before I started capturing those moments in the form of photographs. It was on a year 12 photography camp where we were assigned the task of capturing a few landscape images for our portfolios. Ever since that first sunrise shoot on Rottnest Island I have been hooked. Needless to say I spent the rest of that trip cycling the Island in search of my next Landscape photograph.

Perth has provided me with an amazing coastline in which to learn and develop my skills as a photographer. The beaches along the West Australian coast have played a major part in my life and a significant role in my photographic career.

My eyes are now forever watching the sky’s and keeping an eye on local weather maps in hope of capturing something special. The satisfaction of capturing an amazing location under the perfect light is a feeling I strive for constantly. When all the elements come together it makes for a moment in time that I may never forget. Capturing those moments allows me to show people what they may have otherwise have missed.

My aim is always to capture photographs that provoke emotional connections from those that view them. The photograph must tell a story and truly captivate those that see it.

Description

Emma is inspired by her extensive travels through every corner of the country, and reflects her passion for colour and vibrancy in her unique translations of ‘culture to canvas’. “My love of Australia is obvious…I love capturing the simplicity of life in this unique part of our country on canvas”.

A passion for art has resonated within Emma for as long as she can remember, encouraged by her father who is also an artist. “We would sit down on the lounge room floor and I would try to impress my Dad with my colourful scribbles,” she says.
A diploma in graphic design led to the start up of a design business in Mandurah before the popularity of Emma’s art within business projects enticed her to commit to full time artistry in 2001.“The growing interest in my artworks has thankfully allowed me to concentrate on full time on my passion of painting our beautiful country in bright colours and lively brushstrokes”
Emma’s fun, simplistic style of painting has seen demand for her artworks soar between Mandurah and Broome. One of her more well known local projects has been the theme artwork for the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest, and she has contributed to a number of community charities and projects such as Telethon, Royal Flying Doctor Service and Peel Health Campus. Her work can also be seen throughout Seashells Resorts in Mandurah, Scarborough and Broome.
Exhibiting her work in a number of galleries and projects around Western Australia as well as a customer base extending around the world has meant that Emma Blyth’s artworks have reached unprecedented exposure on a private consumer level, driving her success as a full time artist.

Description

Fleur Marron is a West Australian based Independent Artist who specializes in creating artwork via private commissions. With ten years experience in project delivery, Fleur has developed a process for clients to commission work, optimizing client satisfaction whilst not compromising the creative validity of her work.

Fleur spent 1999-2010 working predominantly in energy science, consulting to mining companies across Australia.  This work took her to some of the most remote parts of Australia.  Throughout this time she always painted.  In February 2010 she committed to painting as a profession, and she continues to strive for technical excellence.

Fleur’s body of works may be categorized into a number of series, namely: Vast Country of Mine; Swanning About; The Art of Marriage®, and Portraits. These series’ have been developed over a number of years, and satisfy different sides of Fleur’s creative outlook. All works are custom designed on Belgian linen, using a selection of oils, acrylic, ink and 24crt gold leaf. In December 2010 the Childhood series will be launched, which will offer limited edition artwork for children of all ages.

The series’ explore different themes, composition and colour. Vast Country of Mine deconstructs the natural and the built Australian environment and reconstructs it into a semi surreal landscape; Swanning About explores the human condition in an ever changing environment by capturing the Swan and Canning rivers as a stage and evoking a human spirit within its subjects; The Art of Marriage explores the importance of finding happiness in simple pleasures on the domestic front; and the Portraits series focuses on the story of individuals in the presence of others who are introduced as guests in the story line. Some guests are there for a reason, others for a season, and there are guests who stay a lifetime.

The following portfolio shows a sample of works created under these series’ and also lists works created independently of these series’. The majority of pieces in this catalogue are sold, or held for exhibitions and private collections, as marked.   Works are continually being produced though not all will be shown in this portfolio if part of an upcoming exhibition. If you are interested in any of the work in this catalogue please contact Fleur Marron via email [email protected]

Description

Born in 1956 in Perth, Western Australia, to Hungarian parents, Kati studied art at Edith Cowan University and the Hobart School of Art, majoring in printmaking. Since 1980 she has lived mainly on the far south coast of WA, working from her home studio. The telling of tales has always been integral to her art practice, and she draws on personal stories and incidents along with grander narratives to devise a form of visual fable. Using a cast of characters including animals and objects, her storylines describe the mystery, frailty, hopefulness and anxiety of life. She says, 'I often think of my images as small theatre settings where various dramas are enacted'. Kati's art is often imbued with her Eastern European heritage, and a journey to trace her migrant family's homelands in 2010 is reflected in subsequent exhibitions, and in the development of a series of works.

More recently, Kati has been exploring the natural world, looking at ways to depict the fragility and complexity of natural ecosystems.

Kati's work has been exhibited nationally in both solo and group exhibitions, and is held in numerous private and public art collections in both Australia and overseas.
