Description

Blurring the distinction between drawing and painting, Ecker’s luminous mixed media canvases capture changing light and the passing of time. Describing the local landscape with extracted and reconstructed elements the works evoke abstract memories of place. Working often in series, Ecker reworks her subjects in several concurrent or reflective versions; seeking balance and exploring the liminal space between them. Her expressive mark making and soft tones appear reminiscent of a well-worn image; revived with the artist’s touch as she edits out everything but the essentials.
