Description

One of the originals of Margaret River’s new-generation small-batch, hand-made winemakers. Created by Josephine Perry, Dormilona wines (meaning lazy-bones in Spanish) are crafted from small batches of naturally farmed fruit purchased from quality certified organic and biodynamic vineyards around Margaret River.

The label was a finalist as Australia’s Young Gun Winemaker of the Year in 2014.

The wines are made in ancient styles with no additives, fining and very little intervention. This approach aims to fully express the vineyard’s character to make tasty wines that are alternative in fashion and style.

The range focuses on Margaret River’s signature varieties with a few Spanish surprises and a series made in terracotta amphora pots called, ‘Clayface.’

Owner Dan Stocker began his hisvinous endeavours studying in Adelaide & then as winemaker in the Yarra Valley. 

Based at Arimia Estate, Heretic Wines is guided by Dan's passion for growing sustainably - translating vineyard to bottle with minimal intervention. His wines are made with indigenous yeast, no new oak, minimal lees stirring and gentle extractions to create interesting and complex wines that are unfined, unfiltered and unstabilised.
