Description

Due to overwhelming popularity in 2018, this year there is DOUBLE the chance to Run-A-Muck, with the event extending over two days on an even bigger course!

Designed with fun and safety in mind, Run-A-Muck includes a range of obstacles that are both challenging and fun. Suitable for ages 3+ and for all fitness levels, this obstacle course spans over 300 metres and will be the largest inflatable obstacle course ever set up in Perth.

The course has been designed to allow participants to run at their own pace and is made up of a variety of giant inflatables as well as tunnels, waterslides, ball pits, foam slides and commando nets.

With such a range of obstacles to overcome, the Run-A-Muck course is an exciting challenge for experienced and beginner runners. Round up the kids, your friends and family and take on this awesome adventure challenge.

Waves will fill on a ‘first in, best dressed’ basis, so be quick to secure your preferred wave time.

* Each booking is limited to 5 tickets and each participant can only take part in one wave across the event. Tickets beyond this number will be cancelled.

FAQs
Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?
The Run-A-Muck course is suitable for ages 3+ and all levels of fitness. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult both on and off the course.

Children under 3 cannot run the obstacle course, but they can join us in the fun zone, where they can try out our mini obstacle course, messy play and enjoy roving entertainment.

Which wave should I book?
Parents/carers should consider the size and capabilities of individual children when booking tickets. This is an all-ages event, however, for patron safety and enjoyment, some waves are recommended for different age groups.

Wave 1 - Recommended for young families (with children under 8 years old)

Waves 2 to 4 - Recommended for all ages

Wave 5 - Recommended for big kids (ages 13 and over)

Is this a timed event?
Run-A-Muck is not a timed or competitive event so you can take your time to enjoy the challenges. You can run, jog, walk, crawl, or skip around the course if you wish.

While there is no time limit to complete the course, there are overall time frames for each wave. You should feel free to complete the course at your own pace, and as many times as you can within your registered wave time. The main focus is all about the fun rather than the competition.

Do I have to complete all of the obstacles?
All obstacles are optional. We encourage everyone to give all the obstacles a go, but you are most welcome to skip and that you do not feel comfortable completing.

What should I wear?
The Run-A-Muck course features water, foam and other elements. We suggest wearing clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Remember, you might get wet or dirty on some of the inflatables, so keep that in mind when planning your outfit.

Costumes are also highly encouraged.

Can I bring my own food to the event?
There will be a variety of great food and drink stalls available to purchase at the event or you are welcome to bring along a picnic.

Don’t forget to bring a drink bottle - there will be hydration stations at the event where you can refill it for free.

Where should I go when I arrive?
Participants are required to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to their scheduled wave start time. Head to the registration kiosk to collect your wristband upon arrival.

What do I do if I can no longer attend the event?
If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your tickets in Eventbrite, or alternatively email [email protected] as early as possible so we can reallocate your tickets.

Are spectators allowed?
While spectators are not allowed on the course, they can cheer from the side lines and do not require a ticket. There are plenty of free activities, food trucks and entertainment they can enjoy.

Will there be event photographers?
There will be an event photographer and videographer attending some of the waves, however, keep in mind that event photographers cannot capture every moment and sometimes, people get missed. All photos will be uploaded to the City of Gosnells Programs and Events Facebook page within one week of the event.

You are welcome to take as many photos as you like and we encourage you to post them to our Facebook page and #gosnellsevents

What can I bring into the event?
Bring a towel, change of clothes, shoes, water bottle and your camera. If it’s going to be nice and warm outside, remember to slip, slop, slap before you slide.

Do I need to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Tickets must be produced (either printed or with a visible barcode on a mobile device) at registration for everyone aged 3 years and over participating on the course. These will be scanned and exchanged for a wristband.

Tickets are not required to join in at the event fun zone, including food trucks, messy play, roving entertainment and interactive activities.

What happens if it is raining?
Run-A-Muck will run in any weather condition that we consider safe for our participants. In fact, a little bit of rain will add to the fun of the course.

In the event of extreme inclement weather, such as thunder or lightning, we will inform you of any changes to our event via the City of Gosnells website, by email and on our Facebook page.

Is there somewhere to store my bag at the event?
The volunteers from Neighbourhood Watch will be manning a bag drop on the day for a gold coin donation. You will need to ensure all of your items are kept in a bag as they are unable to accept loose items.

Please note that while we will do our best to keep your items secure, event management takes no responsibility for lost or stolen property.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
If you need any further information or would like to get in touch with our Community Events Officer, email [email protected] or call the City of Gosnells on 9397 3000.

Run-A-Muck is sponsored by Healthway, promoting the LiveLighter message and Lotterywest.
