Join Traditional Custodians on a 1 &1/2 hour rock art and cultural experience at Deep Gorge.

To the local Indigenous people, Murujuga is a sacred place where you will find the famed petroglyphs, ancient rock art of cultural significance.

There is estimated to be up to one million images, some more than 35,000 years old, found in the National Park. The rock art tells the stories of our country and our intrinsic link to it.

As  the indigenous custodians of this land we want to share our culture and stories with you.

Northwest Shelf gas Project

Free tour of the gas project. On the Burrup Peninsula near the Dampier Port. It is the biggest resource development site in Australia. Check out the Visitors Centre from April to October.

Description

The North West Shelf Project is a joint venture between six major international companies. It is one of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producers, supplying oil and gas to Australian and international markets from huge offshore gas and condensate fields in the Carnarvon Basin off the north-west coast of Australia.

The internationally renowned North West Shelf Venture Visitors’ Centre includes interactive displays that invite you to look, touch, feel and listen as you learn. Overlooking the Karratha Gas Plant, the visitors centre is situated on the Burrup Peninsula Road about 20km from Karratha.

Admission is free, however opening times are seasonal so please telephone for information.

There are hospitality areas on both floors.</p> <p> In the last few years the City of Karratha has embarked on a challenge to open, staff and run the Red Earth Arts Precinct. We have researched, planned, organised and undergone training in our efforts to be able to present the best possible outcomes for the community.</p>
