Long Road Back Home is the first album in eight years from Dave Brewer, an artist who comfortably sits amongst the giants of Rhythm and Blues in the Australian music scene. Blues, Roots, Soul, Funk, Jazz – Brewer is a musician who effortlessly slips, slides and dances between, through and around these genres, distilling them into an unmistakably Australian sound while he does so. Brewer has put together 11 tracks that feel like summer to these ears. Chilled, smooth, languid, effortlessly cool; by the end of track one it feels like a weekend late afternoon, with the only dilemma you face is choosing what to drink as the sun sets. The luxury of time to develop and polish the songs at Sundown Studios was one of a number of firsts Brewer experienced with this recording. The album is also the initial release for the Sundown Studio’s offshoot – the new Sundown Records label. Another first was his son, Jesse joining him on the recording. Fittingly, the Jesse Brewer Band opens the show for his father's launch. Lovers of world class rhythm & blues - this is a don't miss show.

Having been performing solo shows for over decade, Creed Bratton, who played an over the top version of himself, as the mysterious, quality-assurance director that smells like mung-beans, lives for scuba diving and can’t tell the difference between an apple and a potato, is finally heading to Australia with his live show next year.

Set to hit Australian shores in June 2020, Creed’s variety show – which includes live music, stand-up comedic and untold stories from both his life and time on ‘The Office’ – will land in capital cities around Australia, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth.

While many will know Creed Bratton as the mysterious, eccentric and hilarious character from the hit TV series ‘The Office’ (US) and for roles in hits like 1985's Mask, the US comedian is also an established musician, with a career in music that spans nearly five decades.

As lead guitarist for legendary American rock group the Grass Roots, Creed played on the band’s first four albums, shaping their folk rock/psychedelic pop sounds, before breaking away in the 1970’s to pursue a solo career and comedic work.

“Since I first came up with the idea for this variety tour a few years ago” Said Creed Bratton “I’ve always wanted to head Down Under and perform it for Australian audiences. I couldn’t be happier to announce that I’m finally making my way there this coming February.”

In addition to live music from Bratton’s longstanding career, the live show will also include annecdotes from Creed's time on set of ‘The Office’ as well as the highs and lows of a careers that has to be heard about first-hand to be believed.

This French play by Alexis Michalik wasawarded three Molières in 2014, the greatest recognition for theatre in France. While the French football team play Euro 84, April's bag is stolen from the metro by December. But the young man decides to return it to its owner! Destiny is on the move. Both will follow in the footsteps of Robert- Houdin, inventor of modern magic, and Georges Méliès, a great figure in cinema. Eras, places and passions respond strangely to each other. While life has fun playing tricks, will love triumph over illusions? In this dizzying, award-winning comedy, Alexis Michalik, combines lightness, depth and wonder to question the magic of art in our lives. The idea with this play is to bring the audience in a dream with wide open eyes. The Past and Present will have to intertwine. Actors will travel in time and space without constraints at a frantic pace. As in our memory, the comings and goings of the past will be instantaneous. The group movements will allow us to confuse the public to let them get lost, the magic and the illusion will transport them into a poetic universe, where destiny is created.

Career Spanning Billy Bragg Set

Songs From First Three Albums
‘Life’s a Riot with Spy Vs Spy’ (1983)
‘Brewing Up with Billy Bragg (1984)’
‘Talking with the Taxman about Poetry’ (1986)

Songs From Second Three Albums
‘Workers Playtime’ (1988)
‘Don’t Try This at Home’ (1991)
‘William Bloke’ (1996)

The first night’s performance will feature Bragg’s current set, which ranges across his 35 year career. The second will see Bragg perform songs from his first three albums: his punk rock debut Life’s a Riot with Spy Vs Spy (1983), its similarly raw follow-up Brewing Up with Billy Bragg (1984) and Talking with the Taxman about Poetry (1986). The third performance will see Bragg perform songs from his second three albums: the positively jangled Workers Playtime (1988), the pop classic Don't Try This at Home (1991) and the back-to-basics William Bloke (1996).

Says Billy: “After more than three decades of travelling around the world in a van, or spending all day flying vast distances to play a gig, I’m looking forward to having some time to explore cities that I usually only get to see between the soundcheck and the show. And this three night stand format is a way of keeping things interesting, both for me and the audience. I tried it out in Auckland recently and had a lot of fun revisiting my back pages.”

Billy Bragg has been a fearless recording artist, tireless live performer and peerless political campaigner for over 35 years. Politicised by a Tory government operating without love or justice, this previously adrift young man from Barking, whose failure at national exams had reduced his career opportunities to two, eventually bought himself out of the British Army in 1981 (‘the best £175 I ever spent’), determined to make a living out of song.

Don’t miss the orator, entertainer, rabble-rouser, negotiator, pamphleteer, the fabled ‘Bard of Barking’, Billy Bragg, across three extraordinary evenings.
