Description
Blending their signature hooky choruses with a shadowy undertone, ‘Live In Life’ was co-produced by the band and Konstantin Kersting (Tones & I, Mallrat) & recorded in the same WW2 bunker that birthed their third and most recent album, 2018’s LO LA RU.
Premiered on triple j Breakfast, the world of ‘Live In Life’ follows a person over the course of one night as they come to terms with the gravity of a relationship breakdown. As the sun sets, they’re feeling positive about the next chapter – a feeling that’s quickly swallowed by the weight of regret as night falls, by which point the damage is done and they realise it’s time to move on.
Tickets are on sale via Moshtix.

This performance takes inspiration from the dramatic story of Lucretia van den Mylen, a notable young Dutchwoman travelling on board the fateful ship when it foundered on Morning Reef off the WA coast in 1629. Light and shadow, papercuts and lace, mutiny and battle… this drama of survival is a tale for the ages. Drawing influence from the same fertile Australian pub rock scene that spawned everyone from AC/DC to Cosmic Psychos, The Chats describe themselves as “dropkick drongos from the Sunshine Coast of Australia”. Their dress-down image of mullets, shorts, sports tops, thongs or a sandals-and-socks combo, and cheap sunnies celebrates this fact. But don’t be mislead: The Chats are sharper than you think, and they write killer songs that hold their own in any era.
