Description

Welcome to the Hotel Kununurra. Offering friendly and personalised Kimberley style hospitality, the Kununurra Hotel has long been an integral part of Kununurra and today still remains an important meeting place for the community. Locally known as ‘The Pub’, the property was built when Kununurra was first established in the early 1960’s to service the Ord Irrigation Scheme.

The Hotel Kununurra is centrally located in the heart of town, close to all amenities such as Coles, the Post Office, the local pool and leisure centre. It has a bottle shop, several bars, a great restaurant and entertainment almost every night. The hotel offers a very comfortable standard of accommodation with fully equipped rooms that are tastefully decorated. We have a range of option to suit different budgets from the well priced single bed or twin rooms to the recently refurbished Premium Suites.

Kununurra is the stepping off point to the many attractions in the East Kimberley including the Ord River, the famous Bungle Bungles (Purnululu National Park) and the magnificent attractions around Lake Argyle, a 70km drive away. There are a vast range of touring options and many easy day trips that can be taken using your own car. Let us help you plan your itinerary, or you may like to visit the Kununurra Visitor Centre once you have arrived.

Kununurra enjoys two ‘seasons’. The dry season from May to September is our busiest time so if you are planning a visit during these months please ensure you book your accommodation in advance. From October to March the town is a little quieter and a lot hotter! There is still plenty to do but make sure you plan around the temperatures which can reach 38 – 40 degrees during this time. Luckily at this time of year we usually enjoy rain and activities can be planned that include waterholes, waterfalls and swimming.

Description

In the North of Western Australia, at the heart of The Kimberley’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Purnululu National Park and just a stone’s throw to the park’s famed Bungle Bungle Range, lies the Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge.

Twenty-six uniquely designed cabins are unobtrusively nestled amongst native shrubs and grasses. The hub of the lodge - the restaurant, and large outdoor deck is positioned beneath a towering eucalyptus tree and overlooks the rocky banks of Purnululu’s Bellburn Creek.

Alongside, the national park’s only swimming pool, provides hot and dusty adventurers the opportunity to refresh after a long day of exploring the Bungle Bungle Range.

With nothing but the bush soundtrack of birdsong and gentle chatter of like-minded travellers to distract the senses, the Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge provides the adventurous traveller with a special opportunity to relax in beautiful accommodation, whilst still enjoying all the adventure and excitement of an outback wilderness experience.

Although remote, you definitely won't be sacrificing on comfort at Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge
The cabins are stand-alone and feature multiple louvre windows for air-flow throughout, a pedestal fan, bedside tables and wall-mounted lights. Your private ensuite is fitted with a flushing toilet, heated shower, hand basin and mirror, toiletries, quality towels and 240-volt power.

You’ve had a big day exploring the wonders of Purnululu, it’s time to relax.

What will you do first? Here’s some options for you:
– Have a dip in the only swimming pool in the Bungles
– Enjoy a refreshing beverage from the Bungles Bar
– Have something delicious to eat from our onsite chefs at the restaurant
– Go for a bushwalk through the river bed? Maybe look for some birdlife
– Head up to the sunset spot to watch the glowing colours on the coalition range
– Take your boots off on the verandah of your private cabin and soak up the atmosphere
– Enjoy a soothing hot shower in your own ensuite
– Take a quick lie down in the most comfortable bed before dinner
– Sit by the fire and share stories of the day
– Unwind with a book on the outdoor deck
And the list goes on…

After you have relaxed into the afternoon and early evening, time to be spoilt with something to eatMeals including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are prepared fresh and daily at the restaurant. With the choice of indoor or outdoor dining, indulge in homestead-style meals using fresh local ingredients, infused with native herbs and spices.

Visitors tell us that staying at Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge is a highlight in itself and we often receive feedback that this the best accommodation they have ever stayed in. In such a remote location (which is world heritage listed), it really does make the experience so much more special.

You’ve come so far. Make the adventure last.

Description

Halls Creek is on the Great Northern Highway between Kununurra (360kms to the north) and Fitzroy Crossing (280kms to the west). If you are travelling through the Kimberley between Kununurra and Broome, the Kimberley Hotel should be incorporated into your outback adventure or business trip.

The four star Kimberley Hotel is conveniently located adjacent to the local airport and approximately 500 metres from the town centre. It offers stylish accommodation and boasts the largest motel units in the region so if you like a little breathing space within your accommodation you won’t be disappointed.

Set amongst maintained gardens, with wide verandah's and pathways that connect the accommodation building to the reception complex, the Kimberley Hotel is an oasis in an otherwise rugged outback landscape. Features include an attractive colonial style Sports Lounge, Saloon Bar, Cocktail Bar, ala carte restaurant and in-ground pool.

Rooms range from the Standard rooms, featuring a Queen and Single Bed, to the brand new Corporate Rooms, specially designed for the business market. Our deluxe rooms are extremely spacious and the Family Rooms are a combination of two deluxe rooms with an interconnecting door.

An interesting and innovative Kimberley building style of high roofs and wide verandahs is evident as you move into the Kimberley Hotel's spacious interior. Watch for the Brahmin-hide facings and the extensive use of exposed jarrah timbers salvaged from the old Fremantle Woolstores.

The hotel is a comfortable base to explore the surrounding goldfields, Wolf Creek Meteorite Crater or the famous Bungle Bungles (Purnululu National Park). Depending on the time of year you might also like to visit Palm Springs, Sawtooth Gorge and the China Wall.

Halls Creek was once the hub of a gold rush in the late 1800's and is now a quiet country town, although some say the smell of gold fever lingers on. Prospectors still visit and live here and further inland at Old Halls Creek, the original site of the township. It's a great spot to buy a golden souvenir that is literally 'worth its weight in gold'.
