Description

Aravina Estate was established in 2010 by Perth businessman and sixth generation West Australian, Steve Tobin. Named one of Australia’s “Ten Best New Wineries” (2014) by James Halliday, Aravina Estate offers a mix of memorable experiences for the whole family. While adults enjoy the distinct, quality, regional wines, kids love the European-designed-playground and museums.

The Wines
The first vines were planted in 1986 on prime country in Yallingup and benefits from rich, free-draining lateritic soils, characteristic of the region. The wine-production incorporates some of the world's most innovative viticultural practices, including the use of natural pest reduction remedies and minimal application of sprays. Margaret River’s main wine varieties are all made here, along with Chenin Blanc and Tempranillo.

Wine Tasting
Sample and learn about the wines at the Cellar Door. As there are so many wines to taste, we do charge a $6 tasting fee per person, which is deducted from any wine purchase and complimentary if dining in our restaurant.

Culinary Experiences
The Aravina Estate Restaurant offers fine-dining in an elegant, “Vogue-living” style setting, as reviewed by local critic Rob Broadfield from The West Australian. The menu focuses on local, sustainable produce, sourced from a growing collection of local farmers, as well as estate grown produce. The dishes are designed to pair with the Aravina Estate wines. Bookings are recommended, especially during holiday periods. For something more casual, unwind on the lawn and enjoy a Aravina grazing board or Pizza from our newly opened Pizza Bar. Visit on the weekends and enjoy live gigs on the lawn for the whole family to enjoy.

Unique Highlights
After indulging in stunning food and wine, discover the orchards, gardens and museums too. The Car Museum has an ever-changing range of European classics and Australian muscle cars on display.


The WA Surf Museum chronicles the local surf culture and history with an impressive collection of vintage surfboards and cool memorabilia to check out.

Description

Taking their name from Bunker Bay in the stunning Cape Naturaliste peninsula located at the north of the Margaret River wine region, Bunkers Wines forms part of Calneggia Family Vineyards. The all-occasions wines combine two of Margaret River’s most beloved attractions: surfing and wine.

A wide range of varieties are made to suit most palates including Chardonnay, Cabernet Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Rose, Savuginon Blanc Semillon, Shiraz and Tempranillo. There’s no cellar door, however specialised Bunkers 'Speed Tastings' can be arranged for groups of 40-60 people at workplaces or events around Perth.

Unique Highlights

Bunker Wine’s unique guided wine tour explores six beautiful bays and gnarly reefs along the Margaret River coast, accompanied with a creative wine tasting. Contact the winery for details.

 

Deep Woods Estate

Deep Woods is without doubt one of the most scenic wineries in Margaret River, and also one of Australia’s most-awarded wineries, highly sought-after for its Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Rose.

Description

Deep Woods Estate is one of Australia’s most highly-awarded wineries, and was awarded Australia’s most significant wine trophy, the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy for the Deep Woods Estate 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2017 it was also recognised by Ray Jordan in The West Australian Wine Guide as ‘Winery of the Year

Since 2005, Deep Woods has been part of the Fogarty Family’s Fogarty Wine Group, which also owns Evans & Tate in Margaret River, the iconic Lake's Folly vineyard in the Hunter Valley, Smithbrook in Pemberton and Millbrook Winery and Restaurant in the Perth Hills, Western Australia.

Located in the Yallingup Hills of northern Margaret River, close to the resort town of Dunsborough and the famed surf break at Yallingup, this stunning property is perched high on a ridge which unfolds into a picturesque secluded valley, bounded by stands of jarrah and marri trees; hence the name Deep Woods. The pristine environment also includes a large, natural spring.

The team at Deep Woods is passionately focused on producing quality wines from their management of the vineyard to fruit selection and winemaking techniques, and consistently produces award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Rosé and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, primarily from estate-grown fruit.

Stop by to taste the wines any day of the week, perhaps bring a picnic to enjoy with a glass of wine and take in the beautiful vineyard vista. Groups tastings for six or more guests should be arranged in advance.

Evoi Wines

A producer that began with two barrels of Chardonnay in 2007 and has since gained a national reputation, including “WA Winery of the Year,” at the Melbourne Wine Show and a Halliday rating of 5 Stars.

Description

The label was established by hands-on winemaker Nigel Ludlow, who studied in New Zealand and worked in Hungary and Victoria before settling in Margaret River.

Located in the heart of Margaret River, the Evoi vineyards’ quality fruit is a result of its close proximity to the ocean, incredible regional soil types and an idyllic climate. 

The Wines
The Evoi premium wine range includes Malbec, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, a Bordeaux-style blend, Grenache, Rose and Tempranillo which the winemaker makes during vintage in Spain each year. The wines have received excellent critical acclaim including “WA Winery of the Year” at the 2015 Melbourne International Wine Show, and a sought-after 5 Red Star Rating from James Halliday.

Description

Launched in October 2016, the 'goon tycoons' are three mates with the impeccable wine-world pedigree and a dream to tinker and make playful wines from small parcels of fruit goodness they find in the vineyards in Margaret River and nearby regions during their “real jobs”. The team comprises 2019 Wine Companion Winemaker of the Year Julian Langworthy (of Deep Woods), John Fogarty as Viticulturist and Mark Fogarty in Finance. As the gents say, Goon Tycoons is their chance “to get rich, or get drunk trying.” 

The Wines

The range comprises small batch creations made with natural ideals but technical clout for ultimate drinkability. There are a couple of Rieslings and various Shiraz styles, a well-publicised Rose, Chardonnays, Grenache blends and more. 

Cellar Door

Wines can be tasted and purchased at the Tycoons' cellar door at Abbey Vale Winery in Yallingup, open Wednesday to Sunday 10am - 5pm. The cellar door is shared with Yallingup Cheese Company and Wulura Olive Oil.

Lentedal Wines

A bespoke family-owned winery based in Margaret River’s warmer Carbunup area, making generous, fruit-expressive wines with a small-batch, minimal additive approach.

Description

Located in Carbunup, a warmer area of Margaret River, the Lentedal estate is owned and operated by David Hann and his family. Covered by rust red laterite soils, Lentedal's premium grapes reflect the region's unique terroir and produce wines with pronounced fruit expression. The wines are made with natural fermentation and minimal additives.

Lentedal Wines makes Margaret River classics Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Blanc de Blancs Sparkling, along with Moscato, Tempranillo and Nebbiolo. 

Lenteda Winel's cellar door is under construction. In the meantime, wines can be purchased online or at various stockists throughout Western Australia.

Marq Wines was created by esteemed Margaret River winemaker and wine lecturer, Mark Warren. The label explores the region’s capacity to grow unconventional grape varieties from fruit grown in the Wilyabrup, Yallingup and Karridale areas of Margaret River. The food friendly wines reflect the fine, intriguing styles the winemaker loves to drink most. The varieties under the label include Vermentino, Fiano, Gamay Tempranillo and more.

Cellar Door

Enjoy the special opportunity to taste wines with winemaker Mark or his partner Danielle, one of which is always ready and waiting at the Cellar Door to share their unique set of wines. In addition to tastings, wines are available by the glass, served alongside cheese and charcuterie platters. Located just 10 minutes from Dunsborough, the cellar door is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday Mondays.

Swings & Roundabouts

Known locally for its lively atmosphere and delicious wines, rustic woodfired pizza, upbeat music, open fires, cosy corners and a huge lawn that offers some of the best views in Margaret River.

Description

The name Swings & Roundabouts celebrates the creative and skilled balancing act performed by nature and their winemakers to develop the individuality and quality in the bottle. What you lose on the swings, you pick up on the roundabouts.

No-one knows where the expression originally came from, but there does seem to be a consistent meaning across the many corners of the world. Think coins falling out of your pockets, then finding a couple of notes in the sand. Maybe it does all work out evenly in the end?

The Wines
Swings & Roundabouts has a strong belief in the “Mediterranean” style of northern Margaret River fruit that makes the wines great for drinking, with or without food. Skilled winemaking and carefully selected fruit delivers consistent value-for-money, premium wines. It's classic Margaret River - fresh, creative, friendly and loads of backyard fun!

Yallingup Cellar Door
The Yallingup Cellar Door is a comfortable, versatile space, filled with upbeat music, open fires, cosy corners and a huge lawn with some of the best views in Margaret River. Enjoy a casual menu, shared plates, woodfired pizza, epic desserts and kid-friendly options. There’s also a serious coffee machine!

Swings Taphouse
Located in Margaret River town, Taphouse is the local’s Local. Swings & Roundabouts wines on tap, guest wines from other local heroes and simple, rustic food loaded with delicious flavours. Open daily, 12pm – late.
