Christian Fletcher has been a professional photographer for over 30 years and still retains all of the passion and enthusiasm for taking a great photograph. At the core are three aspects of photography: capturing the beauty in landscapes, teaching his technical skills to others, and using his photography to reinforce the connections we all have with our natural environment.

Gunyulup Galleries, off Caves Road just south of Yallingup offers the opportunity for local, interstate and overseas visitors to view a diverse range of Western Australian art and design.

Over 70 artists and craftspersons are represented at any one time and displays of paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewellery and textiles are changing constantly.

Gunyulgup is an aboriginal word meaning 'resting place near water'. The galleries peaceful rural setting, overlooking a tranquil lake is a perfect backdrop for its unique and innovative structure. Since 1996 it has been complemented by an adjacent restaurant. Since its inception in 1987, the galleries have won international recognition for presentation, quality and service.

Happs Pottery is a product of three generations working with clay. Starting in 1969 by Erl, Myles and now his son Finn, run their studio pottery and gallery on Caves Road, Anniebrook.

All pots are made on site so it is possible to see someone working most days in the studio and if you are interested in creating your own ‘masterpiece’ you can book a pottery lesson/workshop. After you have made your pot, there is opportunity to go the next step and have it glazed and fired. This humble craft is much better appreciated when you have a go!

Finn has been working on keep cups, bowls and vases and developing a wider range of glazes which he finds very exciting. He was recently commissioned to make mugs for local restaurant Meelup Farmhouse – we definitely recommend visiting them too!

The studio also features local potters Denise and Maggie who make gorgeous unusual pieces – little bowls and vases, hanging ornaments and the occasional yarn bowl. Harry is a resident potter, coming down when he can and bringing his expertise to the mix.

You will find functional food presentation platters, useful small bowls and practical dinnerware – all suitable as gifts or self-indulgence.  All of the pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe. Take home something that was made with loving hands.

Icon Honey is named in recognition of the iconic West Australian honey varietals, the honey we collect from our own bee hives or from our supporting network of beekeepers. Try it and you will see it is incredibly delicious!  From the renowned molasses flavoured Jarrah to the familiar favourite Redgum; light and sweet Karri to rich flavoured Blackbutt; very local tangy Peppi (from the Peppermint tree) to the winter Wildflower from the north – sweet and floral, there is something for everyone and your family and friends.

Make sure you take a bit of time to have a look at the bee wall while you are visiting. Our locally made bespoke wall reveals the bees as they work in a hive. Maybe you will even get to spot the queen. The honey is available on line-through the Icon Honey website.

Children are very welcome to play on the trampoline, shoes off and no sticks. Supervision definitely required for little kids as it is quite high off the ground but big kids including adults use at own risk! There is also a rustic rope swing where you can pretend to be Captain Jack Sparrow swinging off a mast… or Tarzan. Just don’t bump into the tree!

We have two friendly Jack Russell dogs, Lola and Otis, who will often come and greet you.

John's career began in 1982 in Yallingup, Western Australia. He spent 6 years working for a local furniture maker establishing the skills that I have developed over the following 28 years as a designer maker. In 1988 he built his own workshop and gallery in Yallingup, where he still resides and works to this day.

The Studio Gallery is a new arts venue in Yallingup presenting leading artists and artisans from around the country. Already in its second year, the Gallery has compiled a diverse list of established artists not only from Western Australia but also a select group from the eastern states.

Our intention is to maintain a fresh and evolving selection of work that will surprise and stimulate our patrons every time they visit the gallery. The design concept by Stephen Coates of aCTa contrasts the texture of Donnybrook stone with a minimalist structure inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion. Beautiful landscaped gardens, designed by a Yallingup landscaper, have created a stunning environment that completes the Gallery’s artistic setting.

The Gallery is complimented by The Studio Bistro; a vibrant arts dining venue that combines continental style cuisine with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Enjoy our award winning bistro style menu, innovative wine list as well as a beautiful range of artworks from leading artists around the country. There's ample space for a long relaxing lunch on the terrace, or you can enjoy some of the best informal dining in the South West with an exciting menu prepared by Executive Chef Blair Allen.

Like many things we started collecting, storing, discovering, working with artists and designing pieces before we had a name.

Contemporary handmade art and designs were the focus and once we had the perfect HQ - in Yallingup Western Australia, we then began to expand into working with our favorite artists to design exclusive custom pieces, display and sell the latest collections and develop a studio space for up and coming local artists.
