1 Riverview is also the only gallery in the world where the remaining original oil paintings and drawings by Michael's late father and highly collected Australian artist George Hodgkins are available for purchase.

Enjoy your visit as long as you want. Perhaps you'll find your next irresistable holiday treasure or a perfect present for someone special. Oil paintings make a fantastic and significant wedding gift!  Investigate the artist's studio and see the fascinating process of how the paintings are created. Stay for a chat and closer look while you consider your favourite artworks and you'll probably be offered a coffee. Dogs are welcome too so if you're on holiday with your fur babies bring them along for a play with Rupert.

Whilst here, enjoy a stunning panoramic view across the Blackwood River Valley and farmlands from the high, country style verandahs.  Don't forget your camera.

If you're an art lover or fellow artist, add 1 Riverview Studio to your list of things to do when visiting Bridgetown. It's just a short 4km country drive from the main street and we'd love to see you.

Description

Through the lens of my camera, I capture the beauty of the South West region’s natural heritage & lifestyle in all its diverse forms. My partner Al Purdon, perfectly complements my images by framing them in WA’s celebrated timbers – Jarrah, Marri, Sheoak & Karri. Our aim is to recycle, using the assorted ‘waste’ of the timber industry – bark edge face cuts, discards and mill ends; in fact anything we can find to add that final appealing touch to make art.

The Brierley Jigsaw Gallery located in the beautiful historic town of Bridgetown, has a unique place in the attractions of the South West. Started over 60 years ago by Mrs Jessie Brierley, the jigsaws were placed in the lounge for the amusements of her guests - rather than drinking in the bar! The original collection of 60 mounted jigsaw puzzles was presented to the Bridgetown community by Mrs Brierley. The collection continues to expand through gifts from visitors, including the World's Smallest Wooden Jigsaw. Donations are used to maintain the existing collection and to mount new pieces as they become available. In 2001, many jigsaws were professionally framed and hung. Lighting improvements were made and the gallery has taken on a new lease of life with visitors from all over the world who have heard of our unique attraction.

  • Open Days:Saturday,Sunday,Public Holidays,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday

Description

Christian Fletcher has been a professional photographer for 27 years and still retains all of the passion and enthusiasm for taking a great photograph. At the core are three aspects of photography: capturing the beauty in landscapes, teaching his technical skills to others, and using his photography to reinforce the connections we all have with our natural environment.

Christian has perfected the art of light, composition, colour and post processing. He believes that all great landscape images have to have the ‘perfect light’ at their core, and it is this light that he is most respected for.

One of the highlights of Christian’s work life is imparting his knowledge to others in a series of workshops and online tutorials. His website lists his latest workshop locations (http://christianfletchertraining.com). He teaches for the love of passing on some of his knowledge, but admits that there is a ‘bit of a perk’ to traveling around the world to places like Cambodia, Iceland, Antarctica, and the many amazing locations in Australia for ‘work’.

The gallery also has a great range of gift items: scarves, bags, books, cards, cushions and so much more.
