Description
Esperance Civic Centre presents A Monkey Baa Theatre Company production Pete the Sheep. Proudly supported by Lotterywest. Shaun isn’t like the other Shearers in Shaggy Gully… he’d rather be styling than shearing and instead of ‘sheep-dog’, he has a ‘sheep-sheep’ named Pete. After being rejected by the shearers and their dogs, Shaun and Pete set up their own Shearing Salon in town and before long word is out and they are inundated with woolly clients and maybe a Ringer or two! This hilarious show, imaginatively told by four performers playing shearers, dogs and sheep explores the challenges and rewards of being an individual and will be a lasting tribute to honoring your own spirit and strength, whilst working with the flock. Duration: 50 minutes | All Ages Tickets: $15.00 - $17.50 2 shows available 9:30am & 5pm --------------------- TIX | www.esperance.wa.gov.au/civic-centre (TicketSearch is a new ticketing system, tickets are available ONLY online at this stage, should you have any issues purchasing tickets online please email [email protected])

Description
Esperance Civic Centre presents Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player. Proudly supported by Lotterywest. DAVID SCHEEL in DON’T SHOOT ME, I’M ONLY THE PIANO PLAYER is a runaway success in London’s West End, at successive Edinburgh Festivals, at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and right across the USA, this is a hilarious send-up of classical music, which has established Australian pianist, David Scheel, as the successor to the legendary Victor Borge. Beautiful music, and musical fun performed in so many accents/voices that David has also been compared to the late Robin Williams, and Peter Ustinov. Hear a familiar tune played in the styles of the old masters + an i-Pod; two famous pieces played simultaneously, one with the right hand, one with the left, plus his “translation” of the lyrics of Waltzing Matilda, already a comedy classic. Visit www.davidscheel.com REVIEWS “As funny as any, wittier than most, and, uniquely, a concert pianist of international stature...He stands alone, in a class of his own.” [BBC Arts Review] “The only show in town that can satisfy lovers of classical music and comedy alike.” [San Francisco Chronicle] Duration 60mins

For the first time, we’re taking this unique event on the road to bring inspiring speakers, including those with lived experience, to three regional locations in Western Australia. Presentations will include keynote and breakout sessions on a wide range of topics designed to inform, inspire and engage. Keynote speakers include Andrew Whitehouse, Emma Goodall and Tom Tutton; as well as local lived experience. As the Symposium takes place during school hours in smaller communities, we are offering educators the option of attending for ½ day, to help with the challenge of sourcing and paying for relief teachers.
