Description

This annual concert is a platform for children who are involved in the band programs within their schools, to perform alongside other music students for friends and family. It also presents an opportunity for the younger students to hear more experienced bands play, hopefully giving them the incentive to continue their musical paths through the school band programs and beyond. Once you learn music, you reap enjoyment from it for life!

During the night, each band will perform for you and then we all join together forming a massed band of around 200 musicians. A special event this year will be the music teachers and event committee members performing for you as well.

Known for enduring hits such as 'Thats When I Think of You', 'Compulsory Hero', 'To Love Me', 'Scar's, and of course, 'If I Could', 1927 are one of the most iconic Australian acts of all time with the 5 times Platinum selling album ' ...ish' in 1988, earning the band a number of ARIA awards,a dedicated fanbase along the way, and one of the most successful Australian albums of all time.

The follow up is a multi-platinum selling album 'The Otherside', and a third self-titled album before taking a break and later reforming with a new line-up and hundreds of live shows at home and abroad to support their fourth album 'Generation i'.

1927 founder Erik Weideman has been hack in the studio and is ready to usher in a new era with the release on their forthcoming EP "Paper Aeroplane".

To celebrate the release of their forthcoming EP, the band will tour Australia for a limited run of shows this October and November.

Stellar praise indeed but well earned, as Cliff Richard is the only artist in history to have produced hits over six decades. Emerging as Britain’s answer to Elvis Presley in the fifties, Cliff Richard was able to make the transition from rebellious rock and roller to movie and pop star. No one has ever more fully deserved the accolade of musical legend than Sir Cliff Richard.

Tom Jennis and his band have packed dance floors throughout Australia and Asia with this sing-along tribute to Cliff and the Shadows, capturing live on stage the unique qualities that make the Sir Cliff Richard phenomenon.

CLIFF & THE SHADZ performance will start at 2pm for approximately 80 minutes, without interval.

The use of the pearlshell in Australia dates back over 20,000 years. It is a story full of wonder, intrigue, and the ill-effects of greed.

Lustre: Pearling & Australia explores the gritty human story of pearling, weaving together intersecting trends of Aboriginal, Asian, and European histories to reveal insights into one of our oldest industries.

Discover the stories behind Northern Australia's unique and ancient pearling tradition. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the shell itself, its evolution and habitat, and the people who have collected and harvested these treasures for time immemorial.

This exhibition was curated in 2015 as a dynamic partnership between the WA Museum and Nyamba Buru Yawuru–the native title holders of Broome. After an acclaimed tour of the eastern states, Lustre returns to Western Australia for its premiere regional tour.

Description

Dongara- Port Denison over the long weekend in September is the place to be for classic car owners manufactured prior to 1985. The ideal complement to this event is the Midwest Show ‘n Shine.

Cars displayed at the Show n Shine do not have a restricted build date so you can expect to see classics to the modern and everything in between. People are encouraged to dust off their pride and joys and bring them along to put them on display. There is something for everyone!

The Denison Foreshore Sprint is a single car timed experience using the same format of the more famous local and international sprint events. Cars launch from a standing start, navigate the course through a flying finish. Spectators will get an un-obstructed view of the action behind traditional hay bale barriers or from above as the cars travel rapidly past the obelisk on the hill.
