Description

Exmouth Cultural Arts Centre (ECAC) is a volunteer-based arts organisation located on the remote Northwest Cape of Western Australia.

Our members include visual artists (painters, sculptors, photographers, textile artists, jewellers) theatre and dance artists, and musicians. Four bands hold studio space at our home, 12 Learmonth Street, and contribute to a thriving local music scene.

Since 1996, ECAC has promoted and nurtured the arts in Exmouth through a variety of local events and initiatives, and participation in regional arts programs.

Gascoyne In May

Gascoyne in May is a coordinated circuit of festivals held on consecutive weekends across the region.

Mostly free to attend, each festival is themed to reflect its diverse and individual locations, each celebrating and sharing local culture in their own Gascoyne style.

The Gascoyne is the most sparsely populated region in the state. The coastal area include the Ningaloo Reef and the Shark Bay World Heritage Area, while the hinterland includes the Kennedy Range and Mt Augustus, the largest monocline in the world.

<div> <div> Housed in the heritage listed, turn of the century Town Hall building, the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery opened in 1984 as Western Australia's first regional A-Class venue. The Gallery is the City of Greater Geraldton's principal arts institution, serving arts and culture to the Midwest region's residents and tourists. GRAG also houses the City of Greater Geraldton's Art Collection.</div> <div>  </div> <div> Not only does GRAG host touring exhibitions curated by the nation's leading Art Galleries, special exhibitions are curated in house with the State's best and brightest artists being selected to reflect local themes.</div> <div>  </div> <div> The Gallery's flagship exhibition, the Mid West Art Prize occurs biannually and is open to all artists practising throughout the State. Established in 2011 with a non-acquisitive $45,000 prize pool, the Mid West Art Prize continues to be a staple in the Western Australia's Art Prize calendar.</div> <div>  </div> <div> The Gallery conducts new education and workshop activities each exhibition period, including artist's talks, film nights, lectures and even speed dating! Jurien Bay Community Resource Centre

The JBCRC is a not for profit community facility. We provide services, information and opportunities to our community that promote social inclusion, individual empowerment and skills development.

Description

<p> The Jurien Bay CRC actively supports events and opportunities revelent to the needs of our wonderful community.  With community focused initiatives supporting capacity building such as equipment, adult education, arts workshops, community celebrations and events, support for volunteers and cultural development projects.  We also provide services such as Centrelink, Medicare, social welfare, internet access, video conferencing, bus tickets and much more.  The JBCRC manages the local paper called the Craytales, website and facebook.</p>

We provide all kinds of assistance in the community, with art and creative content running through all our projects. We actively seek and promote opportunities for highly visible, positive cultural expression in the community we live in and are particularly focused on youth wellbeing. We are a registered charity delivering annual appeals, emergency relief, family support and employment assistance.?
