Seussical the Musical, presented by Albany Light Opera and Theatre Company, is a fantastical, magical, and musical extravaganza. It lovingly brings to life all of our favourite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, The Grinch, Lazy Mayzie, and many others, in a story which transports us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, to McElligot's Pool, and to the invisible world of Whoville. Written by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On This Island and Ragtime) Seussical the Musical follows The Cat in the Hat as he tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge--not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a court trial of his sanity, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. 9 performances only - 3 weekends in Sept All row seating Online Paperbarks or York St shop (opposite the library) Opening Weekend Special all tickets $25 Friday 3rd 7pm, Sat 4th 7pm & Sunday 5th 2pm https://paperbark.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/13348 Last 2 Weekends - $25 conc/child/student & $30 Friday 10th 7pm, Sat 11th 7pm & Sunday 12th 2pm Friday 17th 7pm, Sat 18th 2pm & Sunday 19th 2pm https://paperbark.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/13357
