This project involved a complete renovation and modernisation to provide the homeowners with a larger and more open floor plan.
Conceived by The Design Mill and built by Cassari Group, the new home was created by expanding the kitchen, entry and master bedroom, adding an ensuite to the latter.
To open the home up a little, various internal walls were removed to connect the dining and kitchen area, keeping the lounge separate yet within eyesight of this zone.
The commercial stacker door system installed between the living and alfresco area was a critical element in the design. The clients wanted to maximise the opening to the outdoors, while still maintaining a flyscreen, something that could not be done by using bi-fold doors. The stacker door option provided the perfect solution.
To minimise the project duration, Cassari Group chose to complete the roof repairs and replacement prior to commencing more traditional start-up works such as demolition and footings. This benefited the project by enabling the internal works to continue throughout the winter months without risk of delays due to poor weather. The final touch was the render and stone cladding to the front exterior of the house, completing the home with a lovely street appeal that the clients adore.
