The original homestead of the Abbey family, Newtown House is a picturesque historical 1851 estate and restaurant that’s high on charm.
In the winter, roaring log fires bring comfort and warmth while balmy summer days lend themselves perfectly to alfresco dining and drinking on the expansive lawns and in the well-kept gardens.
Regardless of what time of year it is, Newtown House is also the perfect venue to host a big event. Weddings are a specialty, from an intimate gathering of 45 close friends to an en-masse celebration for 300. Marquees can also be set up on the grounds with space for up to 300 guests.
Hailed consistently over the years as one of the region’s best, the restaurant is staffed by talented chefs who work closely alongside organisers to create the right menu for any event. While the restaurant is the best place to enjoy the cooking of these talented chefs, off-site catering can also be organised.
Newtown House is also home to four charming queen-sized rooms in the nearby guesthouse, making it an ideal all-in-one function venue.
