A fantastical journey of imagination, Berlioz’s music vividly depicts his dreams and visions, his torment and euphoria. Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique is an epic orchestral tour de force, a stunning musical self-portrait of obsessive passion for an unrequited love.

We open with Mendelssohn’s overture, The Hebrides. Ride the waves of the Atlantic in this dark and brooding work, as Mendelssohn’s music envelops you in the might of mother nature. Perth saxophonist Matthew Styles takes centre stage as he premieres Holly Harrison’s new Saxophone Concerto.
