Long thought to be the site of a ‘mystery wreck’, investigations by the WA Maritime Museum revealed Mystery Beach is a natural wreck trap, capturing jetsam and flotsam.
There are no facilities at Mystery Bay but it is a fascinating place to fossick along the beach and marvel at the amount of refuse humans discard into the world’s oceans, and the vast distances this rubbish is able to travel on the ocean currents.
