Gnaraloo Coast Campground

Gnaraloo displays the beauty of a contrasting landscape where the desert meets the sea.

Located toward the southern reaches of the Nyinggulu Coastal Reserve, visitors can enjoy the remote wilderness and explore the spectacular Ningaloo Marine Park.

The Gnaraloo coast is the ultimate destination for those who like high energy water sports. Tombstones is famous for the numerous breaks that provide year-round board riding opportunities, whether it is surfing, kiteboarding or windsurfing.

In contrast, Gnarraloo Bay and 3 Mile Lagoon offer gentle relief from the rugged wild waters found elsewhere along the coast. Here you can relax in the sheltered waters of the bay and enjoy the pristine coral gardens directly in front of you. Keep an eye out for the abundance of wildlife including turtles, sharks, whales and a large variety of fish

Camping is not permitted outside of these areas.

Dogs are permitted in designated areas only. Where dogs are permitted, they must be kept on a leash at all times.

There is no drinking water available within the reserve. Make sure you carry enough water for drinking and washing for the duration of your visit.

Be aware of dangerous swell conditions and strong currents that can occur along the coast. The area is remote and best suited to those with experience of these conditions. Visitors need to be aware of their safety at all times. Check conditions carefully before entering the water. If in doubt, don’t go out.

Access to the Gnaraloo Coast is via the Blowholes Road, and the turn off is approximately 20km north of Carnarvon on the North-West Coastal Highway.

Please note there is no access to Warroora Station along the coast.

Private, unlicensed all-terrain vehicles/quad bikes (ATVs) and other off-road vehicles are not permitted in the reserve.
