Regarded as one of the best windsurfing spots in the world, if your in to the wind and waves, head to Lancelin this summer.
Lancelin has some of the best windsurfing conditions in the State and is suitable for both learners and pros. November to April is the best time to head to Lancelin as conditions are very reliable during these months with the wind angle just about perfect. A protective reef creates an inner bay that is shallow with flat water and perfect for learners. Outside the reef the water is deep with great wind and waves for the pros. The outer area is still surrounded by islands and reef so if you can't turn around you won't end up in Africa.
If you're going to give windsurfing a bash, Werner's Hot Spot can kit you out with all the latest gear at a great price. You can opt for training that lasts anywhere from a five-minute instruction to a course running over a week or more. If you don't need any instruction you can hire all your gear from Werner for any amount of time from an hour to several months. Hot Spot is in front of Windsurfer Beach Chalets and there are great facilities right near the beach, so after your surf you can shower, put on a barbie and relax with your mates as the sun sets.
