Description

Joffre Falls Lookout is a natural wonder located in the Karijini National Park in Western Australia.

It offers a breathtaking view of the inviting plunge pool at the bottom of Joffre Gorge that is fondly known as one of the country’s most photographed natural beauty spots. Venture deeper into gorge on the three-kilometre trail, cool off with a dip downstream, and experience an epic adventure amidst the park’s ancient landscape of gorges, rock pools, and waterfalls.

You can opt for a 15-hour outback drive from Perth, take the legendary Warlu Way from the Coral Coast, or join a four-wheel drive tour to make your journey to Joffre Falls an unforgettable adventure. Alternatively, to get there fast, hop on a 1-hour-and-45-minute flight from Perth to Paraburdoo, where you can rent a car and drive for about one hour and 20 minutes to reach the lookout.

From the car park, head to the lookout to soak in dramatic views over the plunge pool at the foot of the natural amphitheatre that is carved by the falls. Follow the marked 100-metre trail to the base, where you can relax and enjoy a refreshing dip downstream from the waterfall. The experience promises to be an amazing one that will leave you refreshed and rejuvenated.

While the falls are often dry for most of the year, the best time to visit is during winter when the falls are at their best, after winter rains.

Karijini National Park offers a wide range of camping and glamping options. They are perfect for those who want to explore the park’s ancient landscape of gorges, rock pools, and waterfalls, at their own leisure
