Outback Discovery Tour

Your guide will pick you up or meet you at an arranged location. After a short drive to an outback destination, we begin with an informative bushwalk where you will learn how to recognise the tracks of local wildlife including kangaroos, emus, goanna or dingoes. We’ll stop to gather bushtucker and learn about medicine plants and their traditional uses. Some of these ancient medicine plants are today used in modern medicines and pharamaceuticals. Your guide will share with you the Wongutha names of places, animals and plants.

Town Tour

This family friendly walking tour is the perfect way to discover both the historic and cultural side of Kalgoorlie. You will visit significant Aboriginal places and learn about the traditional Wongutha way of life and culture. You will hear ancient Dreaming stories and local legends and yarns from the goldrush era. At the end of the tour get hands on traditional Wongutha tools, implements and hunting weapons.
You’ll learn the finer points of nyinji (spear) throwing using a murra, how to make a karlee (boomerang) come back and the traditional way to make a gundee (knife). Learn about the seasons and how understanding them taught the Wongutha people when and where to find food in the harsh desert environment.

Overnight Tour

Immersive overnight cultural tours give visitors the complete On Country experience. Camp out beneath a blanket of stars and hear ancient Dreamtime stories retold around a campfire as they have been for millennia.
