Meet your guide at the Fremantle Train Station and begin your journey through the dark underbelly of the port to see the locations and hear the tales of some horrific examples of humans at their worst. Exploring the streets of Fremantle, your guide will take you to visit some landmark locations including the site of the shortest mutiny in Australian history and the site of the Battle of the Barricades, which became known as “Westralia’s Eureka”. The The Riot Act was read and bayonets were deployed when 4000 Union supported clashed with Police collided over a barricade of the port. It concludes at the National Hotel, which is also the site of a series of sad events which lead to the death of returned soldiers who had survived the battlefield, only to be killed in a bar room brawl.
