East Lewis Island Nature Reserve lies north-west of Dampier and provides water activities for those who enjoy swimming, snorkelling or fishing.
The Dampier Archipelago supports the largest hawksbill turtle rookery in the world and the islands in this area provide resting sites for over one hundred species birds. Many of these birds are migratory and so to protect the islands and their fauna no fires or domestic pets are allowed.
You can enjoy camping on the island for up to five days but as there are no facilities please take enough drinking water and bring all your rubbish home.
