Grown in four vineyards in two of WA’s most esteemed wine regions, the Burch Family Wines’ range includes an impressive set of regional wines under the Howard Park label, the excellent everyday Madfish Wines and a Burgundy meets Western Australia label, Marchand & Burch. Each range is highly-awarded in its own right. The wine varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Riesling, Shiraz and traditional method Sparkling wines.
The Cellar Door is located north of Margaret River town, just five minutes from Cowaramup. Set on 138 hectares of vines and native bushland, its award-winning architecture and Feng Shui inspired design features stunning native timber, concrete and steel. The property was judged one of Australia’s top 12 buildings incorporating traditional Feng Shui principles with a contemporary Australian aesthetic by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. The cellar door is surrounded by spacious lawn areas, perfect for picnicking.
An extensive and highly educational wine list is available for tasting and includes all wines from Howard Park’s Langton’s Classified Cabernet Sauvignon to Great Southern Riesling and the well-loved traditional method sparkling wine range, Jeté. There’s also a rotating list of small batch experimental wines that can be tasted exclusively at the Cellar Door.
Built in 2014, Howard Park’s Wine Chapel is a luxe, architecturally designed venue that can be booked for private functions and tastings. Look out for the bespoke chandeliers, made from 40-year-old vines from their Abercrombie vineyard. The winery holds a calendar of unique annual events too.
