Attractions

Description

A 2.8 km (one way), wheelchair accessible (if assisted) walk track links Benwenerup Campground to Stokes Inlet Day Use Area.

Stokes Heritage Walk Trail

It is an easy 1.4 km walk through mallee heath to a small car park. The trail then climbs from the car park to follow a limestone ridge for a further 1.4 km to steps that lead down to the day use area. Two lookouts en route provide sweeping views over the estuary.
Yate, swamp yate, and paperbarks form dense, low forests near the inlet. In autumn, look for the magnificent yellow flowers of the bell-fruited mallee, which only grows about a metre high. Keep an eye open for tiger snakes when walking.
Distance: 2.8km (one way) Class: Easy

You must bring enough drinking water for your needs as there is none available in the park. Please remove your rubbish as there are no bins in this park. No fires are allowed on this site
