Thomas Carter Lookout

At 311m above sea level, Thomas Carter Lookout is one of the highest points in Cape Range National Park, with views of the ocean, both west and east over the gulf.

Description

The lookout is the start and end of the Badjirrijirra Trail, a moderately difficult 8km loop trail traversing the top of Cape Range. The trail winds through rocky gullies, small gorges and open spinifex bushland. The walk also offers stunning views of Shothole Canyon and Exmouth Gulf. The trail has steep gradients and rough uneven surfaces. Picnic tables are located just before the lookout.
Stay safe
• The conditions of Cape Range are harsh (temperatures can soar to over 50°C in summer). Walks should only be attempted between April and September in the cooler times of the day. Wear suitable footwear and clothing, carry plenty of water and notify a friend or park ranger before leaving.
