Nearby Attractions

Dryandra Woodlands and Barna Mia wildlife sanctuary. Situated 30km towards Narrogin Dryandra offers the chance to see echidnas and rare numbats in the wild. But even if you aren't lucky, you are guaranteed to see some cute critters at Barna Mia which are near impossible to see in the wild, like the Bilby. The sunset tours to watch the small marsupials, must be booked with DEC Narrogin on .

Boyagin Rock Walk and Reserve. This walk is within the small Boyagin Nature Reserve (4966 ha, declared in 1991). The Reserve is a fascinating place and, the walk can be completed comfortably as a day walk.

Ranford Pool. The pool is situated at the end of River Road, Ranford. It provides a pleasant resting place for canoeing, birdwatching, fishing and more.

Boddington Fish Ladder. The fish ladder was designed to assist river fauna movement upstream which would otherwise congregate at the base of the weir and become easy prey to predators. Construction consisted of a series of pools in a 1 in 20 gradient with a reduced weir height entry to the ladder. The fish ladder is the only one of its kind in Western Australia.

Lane Poole Reserve. The reserve covers nearly 55,000 hectares, ranging from the steeply forested valley slopes and rock-rimmed pools of the Murray River near the Darling Scarp to the more open, undulating jarrah and wandoo woodlands further east. Tall blackbutt, jarrah and marri forest shades the river valley, and on either side of the river gravel roads lead to recreation areas.

Mt Cook. Mount Cooke is well known for its walk track which is part of the Bibbulmun Track. The Bibbulmun walk track leads from a parking and picnic area, and goes thousands of metres through the Jarrah forest, coloured with a host of wildflowers in all seasons, to the summit of Mount Cooke (581m the highest point of the Darling Scarp).
