Description

Welcome to Windjana Gorge National Park, a stunning national park located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

This park is an excellent destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore the rugged beauty of the Australian outback. It is situated about 1855 km northeast of Perth and 355 km east of Broome. The park is closed during the wet season.

One of the highlights of Windjana Gorge National Park is the Lennard River, which has carved out the magnificent gorge that spans over 3 km in length and is about 100 m wide. The towering walls reach up to 30 m in some places, providing a stunning backdrop for your visit. These rocks are the same as the ones found at Tunnel Creek and Geikie Gorge, and they are part of the ancient Devonian reef system known as the Napier Range, which is over 375 million years old. The river is home to several species of flora and fauna, including paperbarks, cadjebuts, native fig trees, and leichhardt trees. You can spot freshwater crocodiles and various bird species in and around the river.

Windjana Gorge National Park is a beautiful and unique park that is part of the Balili (Devonian Reef) Conservation Park. It is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the incredible natural beauty and history
