Local Facilities

Description

Located along the lower-middle section of the Swan River, the South Perth foreshore provides a unique visitor experience.

A significant stand of remnant native vegetation consisting of melaleuca and eucalyptus remains at the western end of the current park boundary. These remnant native vegetation areas provide important habitat for local fauna including frogs, lizards and birds.

South Perth foreshore arguably has some of the best views along the Swan River. South Perth foreshore is a popular recreational spot, particularly for families. The foreshore strip offers a number of picnicking areas, including barbecues and play equipment. There are two prominent restaurants along the foreshore at Mends Street jetty, both offering a range of foods and beverages. Mends Street jetty is also the gateway to Perth City, only a short 10 minute ferry trip away.

The foreshore is also home to sailing and paddle board businesses.
