Description

Supreme Court Gardens will be transformed into a fairy tale forest when one of the best-loved stories from the Brothers Grimm is brought to life. West Australian Opera's Hansel and Gretel is a free music and multimedia experience for the whole family.

Taking over the forest in Supreme Court Gardens is media artist Sohan Ariel Hayes (Boorna Waanginy and HOME), who will transform the park using projection, light and image to make this a truly immersive experience. Add to that, the sumptuous, romantic music by 19th Century master Humperdinck, and you'll discover in this glorious opera why Hansel and Gretel is one of the Brothers Grimm's most beloved tales.

Performed by West Australian Symphony Orchestra and sung by an extraordinary WA cast, this free family event promises to be a delight for the ears and eyes! Bring a picnic and make a night of it as you join Hansel and Gretel on a wild ride!
