The 2020 sell-out sensation Francoise and Friends makes its return to FRINGE WORLD in 2021.

Join jazz vocalist Sylvia Cornes (and her friends) in paying tribute to the music of Francoise Hardy and her contemporaries of the ye-ye style.

This show will feature some of Hardy's greatest hits as well as chart topping ye-ye tunes by Serge Gainsbourg, France Gall, Brigitte Bardot and more. Accompanied by a stellar line-up of local jazz talent - Thomas Freeman (guitar), Will Britto (keys), Wayan Biliondana (Bass), Liam Hickey (drums) and a guest appearance from the ever so charismatic Hugo Bartsch (vocals), this fun-filled musical performance will have you twistin' and shoutin' like it's 1969!

Sylvia Cornes is an emerging writer and performer from Perth, WA. Sylvia has performed at FRINGE WORLD and Sydney and has appeared in multiple local productions. Françoise and Friends was Sylvia's first solo FRINGE WORLD production. The show marked a huge success for Sylvia, selling out its entire season at the Ellington Jazz Club in 2020. Sylvia's goal is to create work that inspires and uplifts her audience to value the work and contributions of unique artists such as Françoise Hardy.
