Description

Take a journey through time and space with a talk on modern theory of spacetime from astrophysicist Danail Obreschkow.

Due to popular demand, this is a repeat session of the booked out talk held on Friday 21 May 2021.

Danail Obreschkow, astrophysicist and head of the International Space Centre, will provide a captivating view into the modern theory of spacetime, concluding with an unstoppable journey into a black hole!

Under extreme gravity, space and time defy our intuition. They start to bend and morph into one another, producing some of the most enigmatic phenomena in the Universe. Among them are black holes that pierce through space, bend everything in their vicinity and slow down time beyond recognition.

About the Presenter

Associate Professor Obreschkow is an astrophysicist at The University of Western Australia's node of the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research. He is the Head of UWA's International Space Centre.
