Description
An exploration of the life and times of William Ernest Bold.
When William Ernest Bold was appointed Town Clerk of the City of Perth in September 1901, he was the youngest in any Australian Capital. When he resigned in 1944, he was the longest serving. How did this young Englishman contribute to the 'City Beautiful' movement that helped mould pre-war Perth? The Sunday Times characterised the top-hat wearing Bold as a latter day 'Beau Brummell' and eventually a critical Royal Commission precipitated his downfall. Join us for an exploration of the life and times of this intriguing character.
