Trying to Find Comfort in An Uncomfortable Chair offers an opportunity to engage with Australia’s only public collection of women’s art in a new and exciting context!

Invited to consider the founding history of this collection, Agathe Gothe-Snape identifies moments in which personal histories become enmeshed with professional practice, presenting clusters of works and objects that together form narratives that bear the weight and vision of this pioneering collection.

With works from the Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art at The University of Western Australia by; Janet Dawson, Helen Eager, Rosalie Gascoigne, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Elizabeth Newman, Ann Newmarch, Michelle Nikou, Miriam Stannage.
